Here's the abstract at Ocean & Coastal Management.  Authors are at the University of Miami's Rosentiel School and at Florida State.

Tide gauge records indicate accelerating rate of local sea level rise, which can be different from global rates for a variety of reasons.

Florida state? Where is fishy to question this suspect source.

Tidal gauges are remarkable instruments.  The US installed one at San Diego almost as soon as it was taken away from Mexico.  In 1854, a tsunami was detected.  I think data from south Florida show an acceleration in sea level rise starting in the 1930s, and now, for the past few years, more acceleration, which might or might not persist.
