Anyone remember the old pizza place on 520 where Italian Courtyard is now? I used to love that place as a kid...especially the old player piano.

5 points if you remember the name...

10 points if you know its history (don't know myself)...

And the band was "Boger's Bunch". We used to drive up from Sat Beach during high school to go to the MI Square movie theater. Six screens was a BIG deal when it first opened and was worth the trip. Then we'd stop by at Shakey's afterwards. Boger was trip!

...and before going into the movies did you stop at McCrory's (sp?) across the way (where the food court is now) and get cheap candy to smuggle into the theatre? Does anyone remember the glass blower guy who used to make all the glass sculptures at the front of McCrory's where he had that whole glass blowing studio set up?

Anyone every buy any of the homemade peanut butter Mike Tabeling's dad used to make in their little shop on the north side of the 520 near the gas station just west of A1A?

"My family moved to Cocoa Beach in 1958, A1A was a two lane dirt road and Ron Jon's was located next to the Samoa lounge.

Graduated from Cocoa Beach High school in 1972, played football, basketball, wrestled and threw the shot put. I was the first state record in the school history in track and field. But that's not what I proud of, I'm proud of the fact as to where I was raised.

I tell people of the stories of Cocoa Beach and they just say, "sure". Nobody knew that Hulk Hogan worked at the Anchor club, with Don "The Dragon" Wilson and myself. People don't understand that you didn't have to lock your house when you went to work or school. Our police force would correct your behavior, not arrest you.

- Ricky A. McIntosh - 5/17/07"

I remember Ricky. He was a senior and wrestled Robby Queen (from SHS, and only a junior). Robby was a lot smaller and lighter (and quicker). Ricky ultimately won, but Robby gave him fits in the CCC heavyweight finals.
