Notice of Employment Vacancy

Position: Maintenance Electrician Number of Openings: One (1)
Location: Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Bldg. #44600
Shift: 1st



Duties and Responsibilities:
Independently perform installation, maintenance, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting, repair, adjustment, calibration, potting, molding, test and operation of low voltage power systems. Substations, power panels, electro/mechanical, electrical/electronic low voltage equipment including specialized electrical/electronic systems and control circuits, sub-systems assemblies, PC cards chassis relays protective devices, instrumentation components, PLC's bridges hoist, doors, motors, shop machinery, cables, lighting, appliances, clocks gauges, meters, test equipment, gas and diesel generators, portable electrical equipment and components, etc. Maybe required to start/stop mobile power generators. Transport mobile power generators, when required. Maintain logs, charts, graphs and records as required. Support electrical requirements of HVAC, Water/Waste and other shops as required. Perform work in other classifications when necessary to accomplish work assignment. Perform work assigned in this classification. Perform all duties in compliance with Federal, State, Local, Air Force and NASA instructions. Ensure energy management conservation regulations, collective bargaining agreement, security, safety, hurricane and other specialized programs or contractual requirements relating to the business of the section, working within the limits of established policy. Perform functional and/ or operational tests of refurbished, repaired, and modified equipment.


Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent with specialized training from a vocational, community college or accredited institution. Five years related experience within the past six years and currently working in the trade. Must be able to work from verbal information, schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, documents, vendor manuals and applicable national, state and municipal specifications and codes. Must be proficient in the use of electrical/electronic and mechanical test equipment, instruments, measuring devices and shop tools such as: resistance soldering units, meters, scopes, probes, micro-braziers, generators, counters, potting equipment ovens, molds and any other test equipment required to perform work assigned. This position requires one of the following Journeyman's, Master Electrical, Electrical Contractors license or equivalent military training. Must possess a valid Florida Class "E" driver license. Also requires ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. US Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. Must be physically capable of climbing ladders and repetitive lifting up to 40 lbs.

Hey Sunrise,

This sounds like something my dad might be really interested in. He was an electrician at the tracking station at KSC and just got laid off not too long ago. We sent an email to the IOMS HR department. Do you happen to know any point of contact out there that we could get the resume directly into the hiring manager's hands?
