Decent O line and receivers. What else could he ask for? |

While I would welcome Payton .... I would much rather have Drew Brees

They slapped the Franchise tag on him. |

The problem with Drew Brees is he is too short. He will never make it in the NFL. LOL.
Dolphins do need a QB. I hope they get a good one in the draft AND sign Peyton to help him along. ------------------------- surf forecast |

Reggie Bush had one hell of a second half last year once the fins figured out how to use him properly and he learned the offense. I really suspect his production would have been like that the entire season if not due to the lockout. With a real QB threat, it would make his rush (and receptions) that much more effective. Brandon Marshall. If you watched the pro bowl then you should see exactly what he is capable of with a real QB throwing to him. Devon Bess, on of the better slot receivers in the NFL. Jake Long .... enough said. Who better to protect PM.
....not to mention a better defense than any of the other contenders.
PM as a fin would mean superbowl contention. ------------------------- "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." - Mohandas K Gandhi |

There are a lot of good QB's available in the draft this year. It would be ideal to grab one and let him learn behind Peyton. Peyton can't have too many playing years left until he moves to the announcer booth.

Decent Oline? Long was hurt for several games and his future is in doubt. Igcognito had his best year ever..( no pro bowl) Pouncy was a rook and did ok. Carey was moved to RG and was not near as good as when he was younger or at RT. The RT Columbo was just an open door. His olay blocking got Henne racked. Moore survived because he has mobility..good pocket awereness and quick feet.
Manning is not the answer for the Dolphs. Coming off a neck injury , who knows how healthy he is. Unless his name is Farve or Blanda he may not have more than one season left in him. How much would it cost for Manning to be on the Dolphs? Salary cap killa. I would rather see them take a chance to move up to get RG3. I do not think Flynn is an option. Next option to to get some one in the 2nd round. Go with Moore for another year and see what happens. I think the Dolphs should get an Olineman with the current round one pick. ( if they cannot move up for RG3 ) Right now I have no confidence in the new coaching staff. Who are these guys? The head coach was the o coordinator for the Pack, but he did not call the plays??? Alot of my aqua and orange has bled out, not sure how much is left...I / they need a transfusion. ------------------------- So if you are a surfer I wish you the prosperity that allows you more time to pursue the salt water dream, and the true happiness that comes from warm water, clean waves and the companionship of your fellow surfers. You seem to have missed the press where a certain WR and Center from the colts want to go with Peyton wherever he goes. Pouncey can move from center to RT easily enough if so, the kid has the skills. It is already a given that columbo is gone. I dont think long's future is in doubt. I think he still has a long career ahead of him. pun intended

Given that I have had neck injury myself, I wouldnt be so concerned about the amount of surgeries he has had. The first couple of approaches were to try and relieve pressure on the nerve going into his arm my widening the opening. This was the optimal choice to keep him playing as the recovery for that is very minor because it can be done arthroscopically. The gold standard is fusion, but they were hesistant to do that to Manning initially because of the long recovery time. The fact that he only had a single level fusion means that the levels above and below were stable. If they weren't, a multi level fusion would have been in order and would be career ending. I am a bit confused why they didnt opt for a disc replacement as they did in my case.... (I was back surfing in 4 weeks), but it could have been due to the hits he would be taking and the implant wearing out too soon as a result (or simply just because his other levels were fine, were mine werent) Anyways, once his bone is fused the he is likely to have issues above and below it eventually..... but that would in over a decade of abuse. It is rock solid for short term 3-5 years. The bigger issue is if his nerve is going to regenerate to get arm strength back (because a single level fusion is only a 6-8 degree flexion loss ...no big deal). Judging by the video of him throwing last week, he is already a better option the Moore. Not to mention he still has months left before the season starts to regain it even more. ------------------------- "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Pouncy is way too undersized for RT...I love R Wayne...that would be a big plus...no thanks to Saturday...he should be retired. If Manning is healthy and his cap number does not kill the oppotunity to sign some other players...sure go for it. But my ideal situation is for history to repeat......( you do remeber a certain #13 ) that is to get a great young draft pick to be the franchise for the next 10-15 years or so. I, as most dolph fans are forced to live in the past as the recent history has been horrific. This also breeds lot of skeptisism going forward.

Peyton Manning meets with Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin in Indianapolis, talks go reportedly well

Dolphs just traded B Marshall to the Bears for 2 , 3rd round picks..."12 and "13.
wonder how that fits into the Manning scenario: 1: not gonna happen just traded the team's pro bowl wide out 2: Marshall sucked and #18 wants his people..... ------------------------- So if you are a surfer I wish you the prosperity that allows you more time to pursue the salt water dream, and the true happiness that comes from warm water, clean waves and the companionship of your fellow surfers. could be clearing cap space to sign manning, reggie wayne, and maybe jeff saturday? |

Or that Philbin actually watched som film on this guy.
BMarsh dropped most of the touchdown passes thrown to him, regularly broke routes and caused several INTs. Not to mention losing yards after most of his successful catches. Trading him for 2 third round picks is a good deal (for the Dolphins). He will make Cutler look even worse than he really is up there is Chi-town.
Ironic that he was the MVP of the ProBowl w/ 4 TDs. A game that all the pros play at 2/3 speed finally allows BMarsh to have his career game in two years.

Anyone foresee B.Marshall trade? I didn't.
I read one article, like mentioned above, that they are trying to clear cap space. That would be too cool if it is to sign Peyton Manning. ------------------------- surf forecast |
