"People that write obituaries about how great people were. You should have told them!"
RIP - Andy Rooney - But he put things in perspective in his 1,097th and last regularly scheduled "60 Minutes" appearance. "I've done a lot of complaining here," he said then, "but of all the things I've complained about, I can't complain about my life." I watched his last broadcast on "60 Minutes" this past Oct. 2 ... .....he didn't really get to retire and enjoy the time. Gone too soon. A couple of nights ago I thought of him. Reading a label showing the nutritional value of 2 tablespoons of un-popped popcorn and wondering why anyone would eat that, I thought of Andy Rooney ------------------------- glacial ice into mountain lakes into rocky rivers into the ocean - eau the water! |

I saw that last 60 minutes with him on it as well. End of an era. R.I.P. Andy Rooney.

He was our national curmudgeon.
------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system. In biology, such behavior of cells is called "cancer". |

The wife and I have both watched him with our parents since we were teenagers. After we were together for a while, we both found out the other watched him... and liked him... then we started watching together (mostly fast forwarding throught hte other 60 minutes stories to get to see him )
When he retired, we were both sad to see him go, but MORE saddened by his passing. You made the little things seem bbigger, and some big things seem less significant. Thanks for your time: Rest in Peace, Mr. Rooney ------------------------- GOP: Gaslight Obstruct Project |

He was our national curmudgeon. I would soooooo love to have that job!! ------------------------- "Most people would die sooner than think; in fact, they do." - Bertrand Russell "Morality is doing what is right, regardless of what you are told. Religion is doing what you are told, regardless of what is right. If I do not answer you .... nothing personal, I just have you on ignore. |
