Yeah, fished c 54 canal last week, Fellsmere farms is flowing some brown/orange gunk into canal and canal is flowing over weir into Sebastian river. That is after they just sprayed the whole basin and killed off most of the hydrilla and 90% of the eel grass. Floridas scientists at work

I question their criteria, because I saw the regions that had better grades than ours (California = A, Mid-Atlantic = C), and I've been on those beaches and there are areas that are no better, maybe even worse, than ours.

Is this it? D not F? (ya, sure, that's a passing grade in florida) https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws...B/SOTB-Report_2019.pdf FL's environmental policy/enforcement/regulation are in the tank. The septic tank. And it's not the public's fault. Public support for clean environment is strong.

You can thank our state gov't over the last 20 years. While you were sleeping couple years back, they voted to allow higher amounts of cancer causing benzenes in out water to clear the way for fracking.

And now we have oil drilling on the table for the everglades and appalachicola bay. Yet here we are still electing these fools into office.

We actually have a law in this state that lets corporations police themselves when it come to dumping stuff in the water. I'd say Surfrider is spot on.

..and it's just going to get worse.

Tom, your right!!! Heard it was a failing grade and assumed it to be an "F". But since it is a "D"...... Carry on. Thanks for attaching report . Too bad less than half of the folks who spend time in our local waters won't read it. Thats the difference between here and Cali. Environmental Consciences IRL report came out also, but never saw actual number (0-100) given. I won't paddle the river anymore.

Surfrider knows their target audience is, well, surfers, so they kept the scoring pretty, um, understandable (?) . The IRL reportcard is a bit more. It's here.Texthttps://savetheirl.org/irl...pdate/2018-irl-report/

Rick Scott is doing a fine job.
Red tide is a natural phenomenon.
Blue green algae isn't caused by excess runoff nutrients from big ag and pig sugar from Lake o.

A D is a failing grade in any core class, at least . You actually can't get a C- or less in any of the classes in your major and still pass. I'd say that environmental health is one of the primary "classes in our major" for this state if we want to continue to survive and attract tourist dollars. But carry on with yourselves.

Swap it to percentage and only 30% of those exposed get sick from the contamination.

Oh joy!
