Satellite Beach hotel, condo towers, homes slated for 27 acres by Hightower Beach park
Nothing new, nothing unexpected. Forced to move out of Satellite Shores across from Hightower 3 years ago when it was sold and we were told million dollar condo's were going up. Hightower Beach Park will eventually become "their private beach" ... maybe not, but ..... yes really. Impact on Satellite Beach will not be good, but it's all about $$$$$. ------------------------- Puerto Rico 11 - 24 - 2013 |

"Woodshire Brevard LLC, is based in Memphis, Tennessee. The company purchased the property for $13.5 million in June 2017"
HAHAHAH "WOODSHIRE BREVARD LLC" now that is funny.
Old Tennessee Whiskey Money. I know ladies and gentleman, the one sliver of quality surf that we have will be soaked up and trashed by..
"Numerous major employers of Brevard County including SpaceX, Blue Origin, OneWeb, Embraer (and) Harris are sending their Clients and Traveling Executives to the Four & Five Star hotels in Orlando because Brevard lacks a high-end hotel," the developer's memo said.
"All of these corporations have indicated that they will support this Four Star Hotel in Satellite Beach," the memo said.
Oh I'm sure the corporations are chopping at the teeth to to take a bite out of this shit show.
Congrats Brevard your mission is almost complete.. Selling out everything this place once was. Oh don't forget to finish the Virgin Train Circus that we all want SOOOO BADDDDD.

Seems like a sweetheart deal for 27 acres beachside. Less than 1/2 a mil per acre? Was that an auction, can"t remember the details?
Anyway will be awesome to take walkover right into hotel lobby. Hopefully they will have a bucket for post session nasal drain nearby... Can't wait to meet the squadrons of tourists hanging out in sacred Brevard surf zones, sure the nesting sea turtles will delight in their arrival as well ------------------------- Brevard Surf Report |

I thought the EPA or whoever declared Sat. Beach a disaster area from all the dumping back in the 50's? who would buy property there if you were reading the news? I was calling it the love canal 2.0, just another cover-up.

The beach there is getting chewed away like the land is fresh baked chocolate chip cookie and the ocean is billions of Cookie Monsters. The ocean doesn't see to care about the amount of dirt they keep dumping.

Lifted from Greg CRSURF.com...long read...November 1 at 6:23 PM ยท
November 6th(Wednesday) is the City Hall meeting where the city is going to add 222 nits into the 'PUD 3' or 'PCN 3' subdivision in the old South Patrick Housing Area. What they are proposing is this: 1) Adding 222 units of commercial development on a 27 acre plot of land that is already allowing 398 residential units. This is despite the fact that our city's land use regulations call for a MAXIMUM of 6 units per acre in this development. They are adding density to an already overcrowded plot of land. 2) They are removing the maximum number of stories allowed in the 85' tall towers that are being proposed for this site. The restriction is currently 7 stories maximum. They are adding density to an already overcrowded plot of land. 3) The city is not being honest when they say that the point of the meeting is to allow single family homes. The PUD 3 already allows that. Here's some additional information: 1) A survey of Florida's Cities found that Satellite falls within the 88th percentile of most densely populated cities in FL. 2) No Environmental impact study has been conducted to see how this development will affect the conservation lands next to Hightower Park. 3) The current city administration allowed the two largest buildings EVER built in Satellite Beach, to be built on the eroding land across from Publix. They replaced what used to be one large building(The Ramada). 4) The mid-reach shore protection project is a major consideration for the very large financial interests in their decision to underwrite and finance these developments. 5) The current city administration is considering a height increase along the west side of A1A next year which will clear the way for large scale development throughout the city, and they have discussed taking density from properties along South Patrick Drive to accommodate this development. 6) This is a plan that has developed over the last several years while we have all been told over and over again that this isn't what is actually happening. 7) The developer who owns the Shearwater Property is a man named Jimmy Winemiller who has been connected to crimes and investigations throughout the country. These include White Water(Yes, The Clinton's), fraud involving a catfish farm, a former business partner who was trafficking young women from Asia for the purpose of prostitution, corruption and bribery of a public official in Maryland, and more. He is a major developer here in Brevard County. 8. The people who are advancing this major redevelopment and complete destruction of our city's character are part of the same group of people who built all the condominiums on the dunes. This development will never happen if the people of this town start talking to their neighbors, and begin organizing to remove the city council members and administration officials who are working to allow all of this. November 6th is their last opportunity to show us that they will stand up for the community. Edited: 11/05/2019 at 03:46 AM by 2nd Light Forums Moderator |

NBD!
Who are we to stand in the way of "progress"? LOL. LOL. LOL There are those who would proudly tell you that Brevard is "under" developed. Lots of "expansion" opportunities. I've shared this here before, , , ,: Back when the "base closure" thingy was going on, there were more than a few developers who wanted Patrick to be closed. I was at a private party and some of the attendees were the Biggest Developers in the state/South Eastern USA. They already had "plans" and pretty much already had all of the required financial backing. First, A1A would have to be moved westward from the NCO club to the O'club. Too much prime "beach front" would go to waste if A1A was not moved. It needed to be "condo'd". Or, perhaps use that area for a few very large private "estates". The areas of the base to the south and north could be the "condo" and "resort" corridors. Then, the rest of the base that was west of A1A would be fenced off and gated. There was much discussion about whether-or-not the runway should be retained in order to "up the antee" in regard to perhaps attracting the "super" wealthy. The golf course and marina areas would need to be greatly improved. There is plenty of room on the river front to put in some very nice "residences". The expected "value" would be "untold billions". ------------------------- Dora Hates You |

This is par for the course for Satellite - the concrete strip mall laden corridor for this County, or Developer's dream municipality declining to enact local ordinances and land use planning adverse to pouring concrete. Looks like Satellite, & IHB for that matter, needs leadership willing or able to analyze beyond property tax revenue, which really should not be the end analysis for land use and building regs.
