The paper reported traces of RT in Volusia on Monday.

As far as muck removal; I didn't see exactly how they did it, I just saw the barge in the area and my neighbor on the canal said it was muck removal. The removal would help if the water was clear enough for sunlight to penetrate, but...

I hear that the fish kill has hit Paradise Beach today, dead fish everywhere , so I guess it is getting worse..Remember to keep your dogs off the beach during this event!
Heading North Friday to hopefully get away from it.

I stopped by Paradise yesterday (Thursday) and it was pretty bad. The only other vehicles in the parking lot were three from channel 2 news. As soon as I got out of the car, I started coughing. The smell was pretty strong and they had the red flag up on the beach. Dead fish and black garbage bags were on the beach. I assume the garbage bags were full of dead fish.

One of the biggest benefits of demucking is the increase in DO. That helps the waterbody regenerate itself.

Checked a few spots this morning in Satellite/South Patrick. Tide was super deep where I checked but breaking. Maybe when tide drops out.....

More importantly, not a hint of red tide in the air at any of the places I stopped at. Smells like dead fish but that is about it.

I think with the winds blowing west, we wouldn't notice any red tide until past the breakers. Wave action aerosolizes the toxins and wind is the action that carries the toxins. But still hoping for the best!

Looks like some spotty patches have made it up here. Beach access by my house had some NASTY orange looking water on the inside, that resembled shit we had after Irma. went 3 miles up the beach and water was fine. Hopefully these hard offshores push everyones mess out to sea

Surfed just north of seb inlet today. Waves were decent, a little beat down and crossed up with too much south in the west. Red tide not noticeable from the shore line.. until you were in the water. Burning nose eyes and lungs for me. Lasted 40 minutes. Was worth it to get wet after being land locked since last Tuesday.

I heard Cocoa Beach was pretty clear, but the costumed candy thugs were coughing as they pillaged my Blow Pop supply last night and I'm four blocks from the ocean, so...?

Ft pierce this afternoon. Water felt great with a slight chill in th air and no RT to speak of. The waves were not all that good but it felt good to be in some clean (seemingly) water.

Coughed once in the parking lot in SatBch this evening but that was it. No problems out in the water and no dead fish on the beach.
