I was right.

Imagine NOT making fun of people... what a concept. The other morning one surfer just had
to tell me that it was hilarious that I was wearing my "sun hat" at dawn. Just had to go out
of his way to make fun of me. The idea that I didn't want to go back to the car to get it as
the sun rose didn't occur to this brilliant kid.

I am somewhat embarrassed to wear the hat in the water, I can't really see when paddling out, which sucks the most but MY GOD is it so much cooler! Especially after, not complaining mind, 5 days of full sun and surf.

I've yet to find a hat you can wear surfing that doesn't look goofy. And based on what I see around no one else has either!!

I have an FCS model but my vanity only allows me to wear it for mid day surf sessions.

Foam trucker ball cap.... cheap, basic, and keeps my eyes from getting blinded by the early morn sun

get 5 melanomas in 3 years and all vanity goes out the window.......
as did my surfing.

My wife was harrassed by a guy on Sunday demanding his pictures be posted taken by her. The only problem, she didn't get any shots of the guy. He was a kook from somewhere else at a place I have surfed since, well 1976, but so what. I don't pull that card out there.

Thankfully Bruce Ragan, the legendary QF shaper, put the guy on notice.

Crazy that you, a voluntary photographer donating your awesome services, like my wife, were both hassled by obvious losers on the same day.

She gets hassled more times than I care to admit, so whenever I see photographers publishing their work, FOR FREE, I salute them all.

Keep on keeping on!
