Pretty flaccid in the response department.

I'm going out on a limb and assuming that everyone is far less impressed with sweepers on the ranch wave, than they are with contests at the ranch wave.....

I don't really understand tiny paddle boards, they seem very counter productive.

Very simple. It gives one the ability to snake everyone else in the line up and then ride like a shortboard. A big paddle board just gives you the chance to snake and cruise.

Yea, regular surfers never snake others, just guys on short SUPs.

There are only a handful of sub 8'6" SUPer's in our area anyway.

I ride a short SUP, and after reading this I will catch every wave leaving none for others and I will absolutly snake YOU!!!! Got to live up to the hype. SNAKE AND CRUISE !!!

Dont knock what you cant do or have never tried.

Kai is the best waterman on the planet. Agee, wave pool not the place, I rather see him SUPing Peahi.

Dahui321, why not just paddle prone?

I've watched Sam D on his little board and it looks like wayyyy more difficult.

I think I said it gives you the ability to snake... doesn't mean you have to but if you want to join the snake club you ride the right stuff.

I surf with a shortish board SUPer almost everyday and he is respectful. The other day I had a guy on a short sup paddle out. Just me and another guy in the ocean. He paddles up to the peak were surfing and proceeds to catch every wave. Didn't actually snake us but he was an asshole about sharing.

I'm a SUP magnet. They come from all over Palm Bay and paddle blocks over to where I'm patiently waiting for a wave at the end of my street like its the best break in miles. I'm so lucky...

Back fusion prevents me from prone surfing. So I paddle.

Little boards are difficult, but I still like to turn, and are a great workout for old guys like me.

Fair enough. It takes some serious skill on those little boards.

I think the fact that Kai decided to sweep the pool says a lot. The guy rips on a short board, surfs huge waves as well as anyone, and apparently likes variety. Crazy concept. Why that bothers people is beyond me.

The "short board only" mentality is bananas. One of the least aesthetic things someone can do is take their 5'8 out on a mushy day, barely make drop ins and sink. The place I surfed last week had 8' tides and was so damn fun on a 6' when it was low-ish. The rest of the time I was kicking myself for not renting a bigger board or an SUP. The guys on those got all the good ones for hours every day.

Also, the idea that Domke is a better waterman than Kai is pretty funny.

Ride whatever you want, but be respectful. Whenever I ride my SUP in a crowd I always give up waves. Same on my longboard.

Just because you can catch em all doesnt mean you should.....Give a wave away...more waves will come

To me, the guy that skims at Puerto Escondido is the winner. You can have the rest.

He is the best skim boarder, I'm cool with that. Waterman was the claim and that is not a one trick pony.

If all your boards are under 6' then you are missing lots (at least on the US mainland).
