Illawarra Mercury newspaper.  Nice photos.  Off Wollongong, south of Sydney. It was a white shark.

They have a botanic garden with a nice palm collection.  Same latitude as Wilmington, N.C.  They fairly recently stocked it with a colllection of mature palms from near Brisbane, same latitude as Vero Beach.

They're having really nasty wildfires.  Hundreds of people rescued.

The pictures had me wetsuit deficating.  How can people freedive in a region known for great whites and then jump in with a bunch of seals.  Darwin Award imo

We just get stitches and tendon repairs, mostly.

With their boat 30 metres away, having dropped anchor, they scrambled onto nearer rocks to make the quickest possible exit from the water.

“We copped a real beating on the rocks but were out of the water within a minute,” he said.

Oh I bet that was a verrry long minute.  Wetsuit disaster indeed!
