18-20 feet of deepwater swell at 16-17 seconds.

Just checked. Looks small now at Hawaii sunrise, but the cam timed out and maybe didn't see a set.

It's breaking 3rd reef pipe now , and peaking at the Bay with plenty big guns riding solid 8 ft @20 secs

Much cleaner today , peaked this morning at 16 ft @ 17 sec . Few guys out getting it done , all other spots washed out. Bet the west side is going off .

They almost ran the Eddie when we were there in Dec 2013. The real junkies were towing into Phantoms on the outside while we got our fix surfing solid Velzy reforms. That was next level for me with some of the best waves of my life and hold downs that would pin you down for several long seconds that felt like minutes. Definitely lost a few brain cells only to surface feeling strangely euphoric.

Was never into the super big stuff myself , but remember some massive hold downs at sunset beach . Enough to keep me within my limits

Still monster on the cams. Just saw a guy going about 300 mph on a sponge at Waimea.

10' Sunset is no joke!

I was last out there 2 years ago (El Nino season) and finally got o see maxed out Waimea (20'@20sec).... I tried to surf in Kuhuku earlier before the swell fully filled in (that made for an interesting story.... riding waves, not so much)... sat on the cliff with col' beers watching the Bay on my way "home"

Unfortunately two weeks after I came home is when they held the Eddie

just watching the raw power of the bay is humbling , I really miss just driving west down the Kam and seeing the whole N Shore lite up . I will make it back , or at least i keep promising myself I will . It's my personal carrot to get through life
