If your going surfing this week. Please help contribute to remove all of the plastic that has washed up. I took a bucket to the beach last night and filled it in about five minutes. There is more plastic than I have ever seen and this is a great opportunity to get it out of the ocean. There is no specific area but I can say all of Cocoa Beach is covered. Thanks in advance!

At the inlet yesterday morn, the park staff were collecting trash including a number of hypodermic needles. Some with the needle, others just the plastic. Stated they find them daily.

sebastian inlet surfrider will be doing a cleanup at Aquarina on Saturday, January 13th, from 9 to 11am.  I'm going to go mainly for plastic bottle caps, "turtle candy," so I can build a toxic plastic wave mural like I saw recently.

So sad man. The ocean is one giant landfill. Paddled thru a huge patch of trash yesterday and almost threw up. Good thread.

Due to storm debris collecting on the beaches in Cocoa Beach, Commissioner Woulas and KBB are sponsoring a Community Beach Trash Pick Up! KBB will supply trash bags and "pickers".
Come out and support your community to work together to clean up the beach! If you are joining KBB and Commissioner Woulas in the trash pick up you may park for free from 7th-11th Street South (at the stub end) until 11:30am.

Nothing to top off your inlet surf sesh like a needle going through your foot. Trash cans on the beach might help like in CB. Everything south just gets covered in trash. Can’t carry your rented 10 foot sup, towels, and trash all at the same time so just leave the trash on the beach duh.

It's particularly worse than I have seen in recent memory. Small pieces everywhere in the tide line. Looks to be from the past 30+ years....amazing.
