Definitely not chest to shoulder high like swellinfo had above in SunriseSurfer's post (or Wieland's forecast) and I think ole Tip missed on this one too. It happens. I know surfline downplayed it in the forecasts last week but not sure what their forecast call was. I couldn't go regardless so I guess it doesn't really matter. Ha. Maybe for the next one! |

Even this front and blow tonight probably wont be enough!! Manana as on Sunday and Monday; Go West My Son!! Anna Marie/Longboat, Venice, Indian Rocks were, and will be better than S. Fla. Too much hard west wind and not enough strong, north swell. ------------------------- Tubes, Boobs, & Doobs!!! |

I guess I'll never understand how a short fetch creates a long period swell.
There is currently a 30 knot wind off of South Carolina at 290 degrees. The wind at the 20 miler off of Canaveral is WNW at 28 knots. To me, it seems like the wind up north is too west for any real swell in South Florida. If the short fetch bounce from local winds is all that required, SF should have decent size surf tomorrow. Let's see what happens. ------------------------- I was right. |

Tomorrow will be nearly flat in S. Fl. The 2 buoys just N. and S. of Tampa have jumped from 1.6' to 6.6' and 2.3' to 7.9' in the last 12 hours, and it fired over there on Sunday!! With that in mind, McFly,.... The Gulf will be far better than S. FL manana guaranze!! If any significant swell is even left, S. FL. has a tad of a chance of some decent lil surf late Thursday/early Friday, but it wont be Reef Road/South Beach epic by any means; Just clean, small, fun surf!! The thing about the Gulf is, if you hear about it being good, then you already missed it!! And Gulf swell travels at a much different speed than Atlantic swell, so you better know how to read NOAA like Danny "fucking" Treanor! ------------------------- Tubes, Boobs, & Doobs!!! |
