Looks like Ke11y is in heat 8 against Andino and Duru.

So he's in. Hope his foot holds up. He looked really tender and timid 10 days ago in 3 foot CB mush.

Best wishes.

P.S. don't see rookie sensation Griffin Colapinto in the lineup. I thought he was the triple crown leader after 2, but the 1st 2 event results don't guarantee entry into the 3rd? Is that flawed?

I can't believe they're making Griffin go through the trials. That just seems so ridiculous to me. And now since he didn't get out of the trials he will loose the Triple Crown. If he was Hawaiian he would've been placed right into the main event in a second (which I think would be the right thing for them to do for everyone).

100% agreed. I thought is was a given leading after 2, then of course the #1 on QS to boot.

Told y'all over a month ago to keep your eyes on Griff Cola, but here is the top 3 reasons he did not get a "shoe-in" slot for Pipe like Seabass did in 2012!!!

1st: He is from San Clemente, not Haliewa!

2nd: The 7 mile Miracle locals still run the CT' in December; Dont kid yourselves!

3rd: Pro surfing is being financed by Ziff Bros. corporate billions and run by some Professional Tennis bitch, NOT by surfers!!

On a better, lighter note: Watch Griffin rip Snappers and Bells a new ass on the Spring 18' Australian leg of the CT' and leave Oz in the top 3 on tour with tour regulars baffled and scrambling to regroup!! (IMO, he'll leave Oz in 1st and has as good a chance as any of taking the 2018 World Title!) He is the future of American surfing on Tour, and maybe surfing period!!! I am the Col. and I have approved this message!

This was the man just over a year ago. Perhaps his greatest performance ever.

He got that 1st Rd. Although in weak and waning, 4'-5', peaky Pipe over sand, and still held up on that front foot gingerly!! We'll see how he handles 8'-12', real 1st reef Pipe!! He surfed better than I thought he would!! Not really part of the scenario now though!! Im more interested in the Gabby vs Dusty, 2nd Rd match that could be a game changer!! And, they shoulda called it earlier on Monday and truly screwed Zeke and Bourez putting them out in that choppy crap!!! #GoSeabass

I was wincing with each drop he took. Having broke my left ankle in 3 places, an MCL tear in 1999 I can't imagine going out at Pipe in such short time. I was wondering why he went out.
Still cheering him on.

At Kelly's level, bigger equals easier.

Get to his feet. Pull in. Get score. No turning required.

It's not the big one he makes Cole; That's on lock! It's the one he doesn't make or pinches, that'll make it critical!! I dont see him pig dogging late under the lip on a 12 footer like he used to, or JJF and Jamie do in their sleep!!! Hope he kills it, just scared of the final outcome if he takes donuts!!! Shoulda watched and took the 18' Injury Wildcard!! Why risk it being permanent?? Unless of course this is a retirement "Swan Song", but, you and I both know him too well to buy those Wolf Tickets!! I guess we'll all just have to cringe and see!!!

He aint pulling that kinda torque and pressure on that foot on a backside bottom turn at 8' plus Pipe!! He was looking a bit timid and sore just pulling it up and in on 4'-5', weak and peaky Backdoor!! Forecast looks like more weak and bumpy Backdoor anyway, but the man on man gig now could favor him, but, every other guy is healthy and frothing!! It'll be interesting to say the least!! At least he's had a couple days rest cause I heard he was cringing and limping after that 1st Rd. heat.

Bumpy is good for him. Florida folks know how to find the groove in slop.

And so it goes, the master takes Jordy out. I grimace while watching, but he keeps delivering.

Go GOAT! Playing the spoiler maybe if he can't be in the hunt for the title.
