I have no knowledge of his business goals, but I would imagine after investing so much money, the plan is to prove that the technology is sound, and viable. Then after a few of these events, hopefully, some much larger group, comes in and purchases the rights to the technology, so that these can be built around the world. There has always seemed to be a niche in the entertainment world for this type of thing, but just nothing that re-creates the real thing quite like Kelly has done at his ranch. Many companies have wasted millions of dollars trying to invent this, now that it is a proven tech, he can recoup his investment. Then, maybe one day in the future, all the people in Orlando will be bitching about all the coastal guys invading their wave pool.

On one hand, Kelly's current "Ranch" should perhaps only be regarded as a "proof of concept" installation.

On the other hand, , , , as has been talked about here before, , , , this may "really" be the beginning of "Official" (Media) Olympic grade surfing. Ya, ya, ya, just as rigid as figure skating but a tad bit more exciting and interesting; and certainly on par with Olympic skating's "eye" appeal.

The "new" adjusted bottom is certainly going to be a game-changer in the surf park sector. And, in park contests in particular. And, please understand that we have perhaps entered a time when "The Perfect Wave" will no longer "automatically" get you a 10.0. In Kelly's wave, , , , you are automatically placed on a very, very, perfect wave. Everybody else in the contest gets the same waves as you and each other. IT is what You Do with the perfection that has been afforded to you. And, all that while also performing many compulsory moves.
