Dingpatch Bonzer style fin. 6.75 inch with 5.5 inch base. Glassed with 2 layers of 6 ounce E glass. The wood is an old bug eaten glue-up of Peruvian Balsa and Cedar that Martin so graciously gave me.

I make a simple mold, place the wood template in it and pour tinted poly resin in around the wood, then sprinkle in chopped gun roving for strength.

Thanks dingpatch. The combination of colors in the resin tint and the wood is so cool. I love this one.

dingpatch, where's a good place to get veneer near Satellite? My wife and I are looking at doing a project in the entryway of our house where there are two recessed shelves/arches between studs. Currently it's just drywall on the back of them but we thought it'd look cool to glue up some veneer on a thin piece of plywood cut to fit.

DHodges34,

Sorry, but I am no help in regard to veneer. The stuff I do have was given to me, as left-overs, by Dusty some years ago and, as such, he normally did not use it except for a special job in the Virgin Islands.
