Over a year ago I left FL to explore Central America and escape the mundane of office life for a while. Decided to spend this surf season in Bocas del Toro with a good friend and we've begun editing some videos of the treasures found in this area. Figured I'd share for everyone's enjoyment. (or critique, haha) Not much surfing in the first couple edits but will probably be shooting more in future videos. Hope you enjoy!

Stunning! You are right - not much surfing in this first video, but that doesn't matter. Looks like a beautiful place to explore. Job well done!! ------------------------- |

Thanks guys, I appreciate the positive feedback. The waves are obviously insane and we will show more of that but probably wont often "feature" it. Its a really special place and I recommend anyone take the opportunity to visit, especially if you are into nature. Do your research (or feel free to ask) on when to go and where to stay and set the right tours up and you'll have the trip of a lifetime. |

very cool. I've been wanting to go for awhile, it's on the list. Lot's of CHUNKY waves..... I keep watching all the fetch pointing there on the nullschool wind maps, and my guess is there's been some big / thick waves this winter. :-) Seems pretty pricey though
That bit would be a great segue / intro into the rest of the surf vid. Good luck, have fun |

The colors and that point break. Wow. Best year off I know of.

Bocas del Toro has become famous for its local and beautiful shoreline cycads, relatives of our coonties. They're turning out to be a bit more cold hardy than expected. |

Thanks for all the comments guys. Plan B, definitely been plenty of swell so far this year. Going flat for a couple days next week for the first time in well over a month. My body is probably due for some spearing and jungle time though. Couldnt agree more on both Johnnyboy. Thats the most well known spot around here and none of the locals knew where it was from the aerials. Goes for most of the shots we've shared with them. ww, the abundance and variety of the flora and fauna here is truly amazing, particularly on Isla Bastimentos. You can take guided walks through safe jungle paths (doesnt have dangers typical of Panama and other islands in Bocas, like poisonous snakes) and see hundreds of different trees, a large number fruit bearing, from all over the world. Stunning walking through the rainbow eucalyptis forrest or seeing jackfruit the size of a man and limes (theres debate if they are lime or a cousin of grapefruit) larger than your head. Add in the dart frogs, sloths, monkeys, nightwalkers and amazing people that live there. The "jungle" (a lot is actually cultivated as an organic farm) there might be my favorite part here. |

Awesome video! Makes me want to check that place out. The carribean side I am sure holds some amazing swells during the winter but have to have the time and patience to be able to wait for them to show. In the mean time diving, fishing or hiking are all A+ rated....let's hope they keep that forest canopy looking like that forever- thnaks for sharing!! |

Just finished our next short edit of Bocas and, as requested, has a little bit more surfing. Should be a longer one at some point. Hope you guys enjoy.

Nice! I might try to retire there someday. I could watch drone video of that place all day. "Balboa es por los hombres"

Thank you all for the kind comments. I'm glad everyone is enjoying the videos. There are definitely things to know before going and better times for different activities but it is truly a special place. |
