4th Gear Surf Mats

I bought mine online through 4th Gear. Great customer service from Paul.

I saw some surfboard style mats/carpets I believe at ronjons but they were pretty expensive.

The Publix mats aren't a bad start.  I've got a couple of large-sized 4th Gears that need to be played with.

I have the Dafin. They're soft and have good propulsion. I've heard the Viper fins are also good just not as soft.

Viper changed their rubber a while back.  The M.S. Viper (for Mike Stewart) is a good bodyboard fin and more comfortable.

DaFin is very popular, is comfortable for the foot, and you can occasionally find bargains.  Right now, swimoutlet.com has some deals.

if you are still looking for an old style canvas mat, david at a1a beach rentals in cape canaveral has them for around 30$. jeez, dont spend 175$ for one. any open back fin thats stiff enough is good. when i bought my girl a boogie for sandy beach, oahu, i got her churchills. when she couldnt catch waves, i said she wasnt trying hard enough. i AM TRYING! so i tried the churchills and they were useless too flimsy, no propulsion at all. make sure you get the little fin leashes that velcro the fin to your ankle, lost more than one in some big whompers

I use Dafins and Vipors when I surf my kneeboard. I like them both, but use the Dafins more.

THESE GUYS make a killer surf mat. They also sell and outfit all different types of fins with neoprene lining to prevent fin blisters. I highly recommend them.

I use Da Fin for shooting photos and bodysurfing.
