Tell me what size are you calling that wave?                                                    I wonder if The fin I lost tere in 1973 is still stuck in the rocks?  a guy from Florida made a wood fin that we glassed into my boards broken fin box.  It worked but hummed like crazy.  more adventures from my mis spent youth.

I'd call that more like 6-8, assuming those guys are in the 6 foot tall range

I will. Thanks again for the recommendation! I brought the family with me this on this trip and even though they don't surf we are all having a wonderful time. Some physical issues that I'll mention in another post are preventing me from doing as much surfing as I would like, so I'm glad they're here with me to do other things.

So many different reference points with calling wave size.  How does 4-6 sound.

Six foot to me is a good 36 inches over my head.  Just be consistant.  I have a friend that measures wave very literally.  He measures wave face.  When he tells me it's six foot, I have a good idea how big it is in my mind.

I, and many of surfing's elite, prefer to reference wave height in relation to the average shoulder height of a male goat.

I would say that wave is three goats high, and would be a lot of fun on a fish! Plus looks like a child in the wash getting snaked so maybe looks bigger?

Haha well average height of a male goat is 35" so three goats high is pretty close!

LMAO Calling a wave seems to be the opposite of the "Mines bigger than yours" game. The smaller you call it, apparently the cooler you are...
