since i prefer coral and tropical sealife, a definite yes. and with what i save of my income from exorbitant living expenses, i can visit mountains at will. i visit cal each summer or spring. i love idaho personally. AND dive the caymans or the great outer reefs of the keys. the kelp is intersting, but just rock structure got boring to me quick, the biodiversity of species in the tropics is vastly greater. one intersting note tho: once when surfing at oily devereux point on ucsb campus, bubbles began appearing. and not gas and oil bubbles seeping from the bottom this time. the entire area reeks of raw petroleum, all the time. a scuba guy emerges, and wades into the beach. carrying by far the largest spiny lobster i ever saw in me life. i guess some of the sealife adapts to the oil, cuz it's always there. i prefer florida

we'll see if these come through. having surfed both pipe and tarantula at jalama at triple overhead, i think there's a lot to be said for the santa barbara break. i'll post some hollywood/ oxnard shores photos soon

not yet, but I do know Santa Barbara County is on the top of our list for prospective continental US retirement locations.
