Considering that was almost 50 years ago, things really haven't changed all that much.

Thank you Steve Lis, I love all my fishes.

And props to Bob Freeman, I have no idea on your age but if that's you in '69 and you're still riding shortys on your trips to el Centro that sir is rad.

Cocoa Beach is still cool.....
Link to article

Best line: Cocoa Beach has a lot going for it: a wicked sense of humor, a serious case of nostalgia and a bright and promising future. As the locals like to say, there's a special energy here when either of two things happens: big waves or a new launch

meanwhile 25 miles to the south a whole new era fueled by a brand new wave was dawning.

Stoking article. Sebastian inlet provided the perfect canvas for the shortboard revolution. It played a pivotal role. The picture of Tabeling jumping of the jetty is iconic.

Hey, CERTRON

Thanks for the kind words ... but keeping it real, my shorty is a 6'8" thruster. Although I still prefer a 6'2 when the waves are juicer. My step-up for anything over 10ft is my 7'0 thruster with heavier glass ... I left it in Costa.
And my age? Turning 68 next month

You've earned it, keep reminding surfers of all ages to stay young and adding random letters to user handles papa freesmurfs...
