Spirit is great.... if you like flying in a tin can. Absolutely the WORST airline that ever existed. And yes, I've flown in a cargo plane and it was significantly more comfortable.

I'm with you on that one! At least with the cargo planes I flew in I was jumping out of them.

My tolerance for misery is bigger than my wallet right now so I'm gonna be booking that option to el sal in august.

Just flew a load of happy spirit passengers down a couple days ago and punta roca was absolutely firing as we turned onto final approach.  Knowing I was coming right back to fll my depression set in.

Hopefully you will make the flight down there...I have shown up 4 hours early for some spirit flights to just puerto rico and just barely made the flight from ft lauderdale (albeit needed to check boards) Their check in is complete chaos, no organized lines, passengers trying to bring home pods full of TVs and such and its easy to get trampled. Then cross your fingers that not all of your boards get smashed once you get there. It might be tolerable if no boards and traveling with no carry on or any luggage. 

The last time I flew to el Sal I decided "I'm not going to chance it with spirit" and ended up booking a flight with American. Guess what? They lost my board bag and I didn't get it until two days later. It's a total crap shoot.

Well said nsbkook. I flew Delta and we had issues both ways. We were stuck in the airport in El Salvador on the return for an extra 8 hours, and there is not too much to do in that one!
