Felipe Toledo's stock went up in my book last night. A good charger and a good sport. Kudos to him and for probably the biggest nail bitter heat I watched last night.

Such a great contest so far.   Agreed on Toledo.  Brazil showed up with Adrianno and Jadsen (big Margaret River) not holding back as well.  Owen's backside 10!  CJ had a chance against Kerzy.  Nat got jacked and still won his heat.

Not sure if Jay can beat Mic but it should be a cracker (Aussie speak for good)

Kelly vs Glenn in last heat so that could be at onshore Margarets. Kelly would stomp him at the box.  Now Glenn may have a bit of a chance.

 

Yeah, that heat was NUTS! I was bummed, because I had Toledo on my Fantasy Team! The Box was pushing the boys hard and was good for mixing up the standings.

Kelly Slater (USA) made a pumping Main Break look like butter during Round 3 at the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro to score a perfect 10. Combined with a 9.50, he easily defeated Glenn Hall (IRL) to advance.

Freddy P kinda got robbed. Close heat. Slater "Destroid" Micro!

Mick is a textbook surfer. Consistent and powerful. He and Parko have grown on me because of their flow, style, and power. The dynamic nature of Slater is uncanny, since he combines all of those factors with unpredictability.

Loved watching JonJon slay that slab.

Davies will keep on spoiling!!! KS11, JJF, & Seabass most "in form"!!! And yes, Freddy P. got robbed, but actually only bad scoring I saw all day, which has been rare for this new WSL format!!! Its gonna get smaller by semis/finals, & thats where the 3 I mentioned above will rise far beyond the field!!!

Kelly's barrel was so big with the snap under the lip one of the moves earning the freak moniker  Really a great contest with the swell delivering and they were saying today could be bigger?!!?

Jay's wave to beat Mick took nerves.

Sucked that Jordy got hurt.

There are enough dream/crazy waves in this event to fill the internet and magazines for a while.

Arguably better wave was not allowed as a venue:  North Point Session on Surfline

Jay is a beast...he was cool as a sea cucumber on his home wave.
