Snubbing the nose on the board and sanding down the edges of fins would sure stop many injuries does the pointy nose matter that much? Maybe its irrelevant and it was all brute force. Can't help thinking it was potato chip with the curling super pointed tip

I wanted to thank all of u that have donated to help save Storm's eye the generosity has been inbeliveable! I am so blessed to have each and everyone of you in our lives. We r leaving for Miami today for a 2nd surgery scheduled for 6am Monday morning. This surgery is to repair the detachment of the retina as well as damage done to the back of the eye. I have included a detailed update on my FB page as well I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for live and compassion donations and prayers you have taken a huge burden off our families shoulders so we can focus on helping her heal physically as well as emotionally please follow my FB page for more details in the near future. This is terrible.. I met her at Austins memorial svc. not too long ago. She's a good kid. I put this up on my Facebook page. A few others have too, hope it all works out for her.

Here is an update from January 30th from the GiveForward site:

Hi everyone, I would like to start with an apology in taking so long to update,it was a crazy week. We returned home from Miami late Tuesday evening after her 2nd surgery and follow up. It really wore her out. Storm has mostly slept for 2 days before all the anesthesia left her body and still gets tired easily. Other than that she has remained positive and can't wait to return to the water and compete again. Now as far as where we are? That is the million dollar question. Dr. Smitty was able to remove most of the debris (mostly blood and the jelly from inside the eye) however there is still some blood on the bottom of eye moving apart and behind the eye. That means still no vision just light and motion she is also starting to see shadows (this is very good).It was also great news to hear that there was no retina detachment as of now pretty amazing considering the trauma. We will go back to Miami for another follow up this upcoming Wednesday and see when the next surgery will be as well as what will be done. If you would like to check out some of her interviews online we gave 2 exclusives only to Florida Today with Rick Neale and Channel 13 with Margaret  Kavanagh. Our family would like to thank all of you that have donated to Storm's fund without you Storm would not be able to receive the best care to save her vision and eye.
