The trip to Oahu was awesome. Saw so many new and old pros everywhere. Surfed Velzyland, Freddys, Halewia, Puaena Point, and body surfed 10ft Waimea shorepound.
Even ran into a buddy in Satellite Beach in the line up. Small world.
Didn't get any pics of myself surfing.

Forecast:

Pipeline on Friday morning:

Ke11y:

Saturday after ASP put the contest on hold. Pipeline came alive! Balls of Steel!

Yardbirds and flowers everywhere!

Ran into my idol at Sunset Beach! Watched VHS recordings of this guy over and over in the 80s. Then he paddled out in 20ft Sunset. Said he was wearing a prototype wetsuit. Real charger!

Sunset at Sunset Beach.

Sunday the waves and wind was crazy, went on a dirtbike tour up the hill from Sunset. Super fun, look into dirtbikehawaii.com if the waves are too big or too small.

Monday, finished the trip with the Magnum PI Helicoptor tour, doors off of course.

Pearl Harbor, sunken ship is still leaking oil.

Pipeline

Sunset from the airport, heading home.

Aloha!

Nice post! I went last year but waves stayed tame during my week. Mainly head high to 3' OH range. Great, but never got to witness pipe in it's glory. I'll be back sometime and will hopefully catch it like you did.

Any good shorepound pics?  An Australian beach expert

(University of New South Wales) is writing a story on

shorebreak and has been looking for pics and videos.

Nice, sort of.  My neck's been reminding me of last November's hard landing.  But a Slyde handboard showed up at the door today. It dwarfs my little Salt Creek palmboard (which came in a more elegant box).
