thick chunky walls in mel bch with a strong north drift worthy of parking two cars... all the foam makes the water nice and warm

SatBch @ high tide.

"Fish" is back home,
and was the only one out ....and on a bodyboard,
but he was out !!

But it just looked "drifty"...too drifty.
( in hindsight I should have paddled our right then!! )

...so I headed to the north side of the pier, thinking it would offer
protection, an easier paddlout and some clean waves.

Well...it just didn't look that good or inviting.
Breaking through the pier...

..and didn't really seem to have that "rip" next to the pier
to help getting out.

Talked with a few riders on the shore, ...
...and decided to head back to Satellite.

....also talked Greg into driving south too LOL
(he will probably hate me for that)

Back in Satellite, didn't look that bad....

Paddled out....or I should say, attempted.

While waiting for the "lull" in waist high water,
I found 15lbs of Sargassum seeweed hanging on my leash...
... and then the lull, or so I thought.

After drifting more than I wanted and not making any progress,
I caught some whitewater to the shore....

...and did the "walk of shame" a bit further south,
another 100yds past my first attempt.

Yeaaaaaah, I made it out. Whooped though, and on the seventh day "He" rested,
so I did too, ....and waited on the outside

Managed to get into about 4 waves...the one I really wanted to make I got bounced off
the face...
...but did manage to catch a decent one with size.

After my fourth or fifth wave, I tuned to paddle back out, and saw the set waves
headed my way...already white and breaking. I made it through the first two 5' walls of whitewater ...
.....being pushed further inside and further north.

I gave it up....and caught a broken wave to the shore.

Glad I paddled out, glad I (finally) made it out, ...
..it will make tomorrow morning seem soooo much better.

Went out at Ocean Ave this afternoon. Tough paddle out, lots of duck diving practice. Caught 3 bouncy waves and by the third one had drifted half way to 5th Ave. It had potential, still just too bumpy and drifty to be much fun.
