You got great images last year! Please post more!

To answer the question about longboards, it's more about which category of ''Joe'' you fit. We had mixed heats last year, most chose to ride shortboards because it is, after all, Sebastian Inlet. It's a cumulative score contest, no advancement. Everybody gets to surf 4 heats and your best scores determine your placement.

"Which category is considered for the best long boarders?" When I checked in for my first heat on Friday last year one of the organizers looks at me and says " this isn't a long board contest you know" I said yea, but I got to give these young kids a chance. I think I won that heat. The Sept 20-21 date looks bad tide-wise but we'll see. Kona-Kona

lil bump for the cause!

Water and sand quality? beach access? Oil drilling? Land preservation? Surfrider helps with ALL of these issues, so get yourself involved!

(It doesn't hurt that you get to surf the inlet with just 3 other guys out either)

Surf forecast is coming into focus, Edouard swell to warm up on and a NE grond swell fills in Saturday for an extended run of waves. Sign up you & your buddies for a 4 man heat in the Regular Joe, the only event where you can construct a fun surf session at the Inlet for a great cause!

After everyone had their surf sessions today, we looked at the surf forecasts for this weekend and the following weekend to see which had better potential for surf. There is a front stalling off our coast which looks to to bring some shorter period swell starting late morning to mid afternoon on Saturday and into Sunday. The following weekend shows another potential stalled cold front that is focusing waves north of the cape with no major source of swell pointing our way as of now. So, for all those folks that have already signed up, we are holding the surf festival this weekend.

As a reminder, the festival coincides with the ocean conservancy international beach cleanup, so that will be done in conjunction with the surf festival. Even if you are not surfing, you can help in ridding the beaches of plastic and garbage that will be counted and represented for our area toward the international count of garbage removed from the surf zone.

Calling all "Keepers of the Coast" (that means you, Surfrider members!).  Come on down to the Inlet this week-end and support the cause.  We know 1/2 the state of FL was here yesterday, no excuses for not coming back to support this SRF function.  Great chance to surf the inlet with just 3 folks next to you.  Bring 3 buds and make it is four-some.  It's On!!

good times today. offshore, waist to chest high all day. Mel High and Sat. High did a fun little tag team heat and it only rained briefly a couple of times the entire day. Sweet. The surfer stomp will still be going on at the Seb. Inlet surf and sport for a while tonight. The bands are putting out some good stuff.
