I live in the UK and have what I believe is a 70's Robert Strickland custom made 8ft6 nose rider longboard, has 3 solid fins, what look like sponsor names (Belitz, Body Glove, Freeport Jefferyd and ECG) and 'shape by Robert Strickland 6151 8"6' written the stringer. It looks well used and has some major repairs. Looking for information on the board?

Pictures would be helpful, but it is definately not a 70's board since the 3 fin thruster did not come into being until 1980. It was most likely made in the early 90's or later. the stickers don't mean anything since Robert never sponsored anyone. As far as monetary value, they don't command an especially high price. But those who know prize their Strickland's as an exceptionally good riding board. People that own them rarely sell them.

That is an unusual specimen. I have not seen one like that before. It is defininately one of his boards as that is his label. It appears to be in good shape. Bob's boards are known for their buttery smooth ride which is confidence inspiring in bigger waves and scetchy take-offs. I would suggest that you take good care of it and surf your ass off with it. That is the way Bob would have liked it.

It was gifted to me about 15 years back by someone that I have lost contact with now, he used to live in Florida and it was gifted to him by someone who apparently surfed professionally. It was my impression that the board was commissioned as a one-off for this person.

Interesting how these boards get around. It was definately a custom, but most of Bob's boards were. Enjoy the ride.

I haven't surfed in years, maybe I will pick it up again.... not the easiest thing in the UK though unless you live in Cornwall.

I googled Belitz and they appear to be Belitz Surf Company, incorporated in 1988 in Orlando. I don't ever remember seeing that label, so they must not have lasted too long.

I met with RS a couple times, very regretful that I never had him make me a board.

Very cool that it made it so far away.  I love seeing these funky Bob boards.

Thanks for the replies and thoughts on the board, it currently hangs over an outside bar and is on display....

This surfboard is a one off, very rare.  Hold onto it,  if you still have it.

Belitz was a label out of Orlando.

Must have been a side project.
