Hi all. I haven't had to buy any in years. I just got a used Mazda 3 and and looking for racks. The plethora of choices is astounding and it seems confusing to put all the pieces together on certain sites. The price of them is often ridiculous too. What systems have you guy found to be the best value. I am looking for hard racks not soft. Thanks.

Yakima Whispbar's with Dakine Pads and strap work well for me, and when empty, they make no noise and have negligible affect on MPG.

Use the yakima fit guide on their site to see exactly what you need then look for those specific pieces for your car

I'm very happy with sea suckers .. They suction to anything.. I've pulled three paddleboards on a vette. They adapt to any car in case of travel or car swapping. They are very well made.

Only way to prevent theft is removal..it takes 10 seconds to remove..takes a minute to put on

I wouldn't trust the suction of a "sea sucker" to hold my board on.

They are the same suckers used to carry glass panels..if surface is clean and you moisten..I find it close to impossible for them to disengage..my .02

I mean ..I wouldn't put Roy Stewart's million dollar board up there

I had Yakima racks on my old station wagon and I drove that car all over this country...from FL to CA twice and up and down the east coast.  I usually had 3 boards on there and the racks were rock solid @ 70-80mph.  I would buy another set in a second....no question.

My brother has a Mazda 3, and threw down the $ for some Thules..... he likes 'em.  Has the "Hang 2" board holders on 1 side and a bike holder on the other.
