The 29th Annual NKF Rich Salick Pro-Am Surf Festival (8/29 - 9/01/14) is the LARGEST surfing charity competition in the world!

It's held at The Cocoa Beach Pier, featuring Professional & Amateur Surfing Competitions, Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) & Tandem Competitions, Skateboard, Karate, Entertainment, Family Fun & Volunteering. ALL proceeds go to the NKF of Florida to support programs in patient services, research, public & professional education & organ donation. The festival also strives to increase awareness of kidney disease w/ an emphasis on prevention & support for organ donation.

The Taste of Brevard Silent Auction Event, including a live auction & sampling of over 20 restaurants, will be held at the Radisson Resort at the Port from 6 PM-10 PM on August 31st.

Just donated a sick 5'2 fish for the event. Super retro Paipo style inspired by Chris Harazda set up as quad fcs and Rich says it well get some incredible art work for the auction. Great event, even better people involved and stoked to be a small part of an event that gives back to real true benefit.

We are still in need for donations of more CLEAR BOARDS, we have a few amazing artists who will donate their talents to help us out.  Next NKF volunteer meeting is this coming Thursday (Aug 7th) at the Hilton Tiki deck 6pm in Cocoa Beach.

If you have any baskets, wine, re-gifts or want to donate any amount of money .. we can take the cash donations & combine them to purchase a larger value gift card to put in baskets, etc., you can bring donations to meeting.

Phil needs more volunteers to help break down the scaffolding after the contest, they're leaving for Surf Expo day after so please let us know if you can help.  He also needs volunteers for set-up/put up banners. Mahalo for your support & god bless \m/

There will be no volunteer meeting this Thursday, August 14th. Our next volunteer meeting will be next Thursday, August 21st and will take place at the City Commission Meeting at City Hall where we will petition for the city to donate Pulsipher and Meade Avenue for Labor Day. We will then head to Coconuts for poster distribution & to collect any auction items. Look forward to seeing you next Thursday, August 21st at City Hall!

 

Big Island Night will take place on Monday, August 25th from 6-10 pm at Keith's Oyster Bar(Oh Shucks) at the Pier. Tickets will be $20 at the door and include a buffet dinner and live music. Please spread the word!

All the other pro divisions are still there Jr Men, etc..  I'll be at the NKF Skate Jam today so I'll verify, but only thing they did is ADD stuff like OPEN Tandem
