My friend is selling a 6'4 x 19 1/2 x 2 3/8 5 fin for dirt cheap, and I was thinking to myself how if it was a 5'10 and a bit less pulled in of a nose it would have been awesome. I then thought to myself: what if I just cut off 4-6 inchess off the board and reshape a new nose? Would it affect the ride as I am tampering with the outline and rocker of the board? Input would be greatly appreciated

I just did something similar with the tail. Turned out good. Breathed new life into a 6'4 twin fish. Now it's a 5.9 round tail with a twin + 1(knubster).

If it's dirt cheap. Go for it.

Wouldnt chopping the tail it make it a lot more loose?

i had a shortboard that 6+ 8" of the nose broke off.  I just glassed it flush and it rode fine

Yes the board is looser, hence the knubster addition. But I rode it first as a twin after the renovation and took a little getting used to but that's all in the fun of it: Learning/knowing how to ride what you have/are given.
