Yes and no, DLWW did a fantastic job and was an inspiration. This is a contest that will take the fundraiseing aspect and try to improve the contest part.

Contest/Festival will benefit the Melbourne High School Surf team and the Surfrider Foundation.  Help support MHS continue to build on their successful 3rd place finish at NSSA nationals this year in CA to a 1st place finish in '14!!  Lot's of East Coast pride at stake here!!

We'll have a special package for those contestants who want join Surfrider that week-end as well.  You can 'talk' about sand dredging, beach access loss, etc. all you want on this forum, but doesn't it make sense to get involved?  Together we can make ourselves heard!

Mahalo!

Beginning a new tradition!

Sebastian Inlet Chapter is stoked to work with Sebastian Inlet Surf and Sport and the Inlet state park to get this going.

We thought you'd like this one. You definitely have to come surf in the event since we named it after you.

or you can be a judge, we can offer free food as comp.

Cute categories but you know what happens. There will be like 3 lawyers competing each gets a trophy yet there are 50 Regular Joes competing for one of three. Same thing happened in the DLWW where the Drs had a few and WW was everyone else. Should figure a way to even things out a bit.
