^Hey Jim (or Doreen?), the guys were talking about this all weekend @ the Jetty. I didn't know if it was BS or not. But apparently it's real. I saw the footage of the White Shark off Sebastian a while back too. Heard reports of sightings around the Cape...

That video is nuts.

Spearfishermen are nuts, those guys tangle with sharks on a regular basis.

Well, we can certainly say Great Whites are anyway. They're poppin up everywhere. Wonder what the hell those things are eating down here this time of year. Didn't think they were fast enougth to catch Tarpon.

Brother, when you get a minute, could I get a list of the words that trigger these fits?

Hey. Where are we going? (And what are we doing in a hand-basket?)

Makes me re-think the 12 to 15 inch fin that i saw in the line up at Cocoa Pier back in March.  I brushed it off as a harmless species cruising for bait fish.

They've had a big White Shark mounted @ Bud 'n' Mary's Marina in Islamorada from as far back as I can remember. It was caught just offshore of Alligator Lighthouse. My Dad told me that the commercial fisherman from the old Green Turtle canery used to bring in White Sharks every now and then back in the 60's and 70's.

So I've known about White Sharks going as far down as the Keys, but those sharks were all caught well offshore in over 100' of water. The two sharks in the video links were seen in over 100' of water well offshore.

What's this story about catching a White Shark off the pier?

To be honest, I was surfing north of Two Palms on a hurricane swell back in the late 90's when I saw a very large shark heading back out to sea from the inside. It rolled on it's side playfully and had a pectoral fin out of the water. My friend and I both took note of the white belly and started chattering "Is that what I think it is?" We convinced ourselves that it must have been a big Tiger and that it just looked like a Great White at first. I just didn't think they'd come that close shore, in warm water, during hurricane season. Needless to say we got out and went back down to the streets.

With record turtles nesting this year along the southeast Florida coast, It makes one think why these sharks maybe coming in .

I know they are not common around here but I wouldn't be surprised if there were more around that we knew about.

We've been droppin off Alligator deep for many years and for me aside from 3 specific encounters 2 whites and a big bull in dirty water bahia de concepcion' out west in my youth, that place scares the shit outta me more than any other, every, time. Why do I keep goin back down, must be ,, I don't know~  I see ramora's swimmin freely alotta times, and you just know the host has gotta be somewhere near. FU--~~ A partner of mine had a 12'+ hammer circle up from the bottom (110) on his accent and came right in on him at 40', dumbshit had a 15lb black tucked in his bc on stringer and chose to not let him have it, well,, sure as shit that big boy came right in and snatched it off his chest, I shit you not, lost all respect for dude at that very moment, it wasn't the first time he did stupid careless things. At 60' one time out there, terrible vis, like 10' was caught in the middle of a raging through school of 20Ld jacks, that was a wild surprise rush, as you could really only see like 5' around you in the midst of that dynamic until a big ole' shadow went by about 8-10' off my 11 oclock perifery(sp), what the fu-- was THAT. omg, I just started typin thoughts as they came back to me here, went off alittle,, now I need a pill ta calm down

to edit: Had another great day of waves this am!! was really good for a long time at the tide switch, yeew!
