I saw the photographer from ESM at Palm Beach and he was snapping shots of Peter Mendia on some bombs that were well overhead.  I asked him if he got any of me but turns out he only shoots pros.  I am excited to see how the wave looked from his lens.  It was so good I couldnt beleive it.

No he didn't say that he just laughed.  He was there for Mendia and when he filled his quota of Mendia shots he was gone.  I only asked him if he got a shot of me to get a laugh out of him. I figured a shot of a middle aged local guy riding a bright orange Mayo egg would make a great shot.  I could even caption it for him:  Here we have a local attorney enjoying a liquid lunch on a delicious hurricane swell that will last as long as his explanation about why he snuck out of work.

There aren't enough pics of locals having fun.  I wish he had gotten some pics of you or anybody else having fun. 

That's generally why I started coming to the forums ~ to see photos of pro to average people having fun surfing & usually catching great waves while I'm at work   Mama G was the best, shooting anybody at the Inlet.  You didn't have to be ripping, you just had to be having a good time.  Plus, she'd shoot you even if you weren't having a good time. 

A lot of photogs on here keep up the practice but the big time ones seem to be missing out.  I always enjoy seeing tip's photos of a sneaker swell with all kinds of people ripping rather than  an ESM special - EAST COAST SWEEL! Mendia @ Reef Road, Kechele @ the Inlet, Gorkin in NSB, Toth in PR, Sam Hammer in NJ, Balaram in NY, Snyder @ Sturns.

I could be wrong, but I think the South FL Debby pics thread was from the same guy you're complaining about Punch.  There's plenty of shots there from non-pro locals to go along with some nice shots of some pros.

I saw two guys shooting that day, one was the ESM guy (who I'm now assuming is Leon Legot--although I could be very wrong about that); the other was a guy named Stuart Putnam who I was randomly chatting with when Jeremy (local guy in the long blue rashguard) got one of the best waves I saw all day.

Regardless, it was a great day.  The weatherman is also in some of those shots; he's claiming he has pictures and will post them on his blog on wptv.com sometime next week.  I'm sure there are more yet to surface.

My mistake.  I guess that means there were three guys shooting. 

By the way, you have no need to apologize at all.  I'm stoked on your pics (even if I didn't make the cut), and it seems several others are stoked as well.
