even with all the slop today...
I still dig the way the north reef at 2nd Light bends those outside sets to create that bitchin left that sometime can rocket all the way across the break, or offer up lotsa ops for all kinds of turns.

sat image shows the bend that creates the lefts on the outside reef...

Its a lot deeper there than anywhere else within miles either way and the sand covered reefs create those refracto bends.

The sea was angry that day, my friends, like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli.

I think you can spot a few surfers on that Google Maps image.

That Satellite shot makes sense. I've had some fun rights on that 8' - 5' ledge (south side) on higher tides with a decent sized swell in the water.

Very cool and informative.  I'll have to read it a few more times to really understand the dynamics of waves, but cool info.

Great post and link, freesurfs. In recognition of you aiding awareness of how our reef works to shape our surf from PAFB down to Indialantic, the Sebastian Inlet Chapter of Surfrider Foundation would like to present you with a beautiful 2' x 3' poster titled '' Florida's Nearshore Reefs''.

What's the best way for me to get with you so we can do a presentation ceremony lol??
