Just came across this and thought I'd share ...
Check out Tahiti as you have never seen it before. Aerial images of French Polynesia, specifically the surf break Teahupo’o, using the tilt-shift photography effect. Very cool. Hard to believe that's an actual photograph. The tilt shift effect makes it look like a miniature diorama.

It's a very old method, going back to view cameras, where you could tilt or shift the lens with respect to the glass screen on which you composed the photo. Tilt-shift lenses for 35 mm cameras were available by the 1970s. Wildly expensive, of course. |
