Another nifty crafty tip brought to you by ....
Thank you.

In other non-related, non-surf topics, it was suggested
that I ask you if you have had any bottle cutting experience or tips?
Cutting the bottoms / tops off of wine bottles, beer bottles, ...glass bottles in general.

Good thick gloves, a glass cutter, boiled water, ice, and a lot of patience. A jig to make an even score around the bottle is helpful too so the bottle won't break weird. The few times I've done it, it's taken me some time, but if you get an assembly line going, I think the pace would pick up once you get the hang of it.
It's essentially taking the scored glass line from hot to cold quickly (or vice versa) to make the glass break away, hopefully in a clean line, then sanding the edges smooth. There's a bit of an art to it, definitely.

Set up a v-block and a nicrome wire. Place the bottle under the wire on the v-block. Hook up a 12 volt battery charger to it and turn up the amps till the wire barely glows. Turn the bottle under the wire and the bottle top will magicly fall off. No post sanding required. I made 200 drinking glasses from old soda bottles without burning out the wire. It took some time to get the heat right. My Mom still uses them...I made them about 25 years ago.

And oh yeah allways wear safety goggles.

aloe grows like a weed if you let it go
so if you grow it, then youre definitely going to have a lot
especially if you don't maintain it

with all of that being said, sounds like youre going to be
spending $5 one in a blue moon

Kim, how do you keep coming up with ideas? Lisa and I got fried in PR and the guards let us go in someone's yard and grab a few leaves. I have a ton of aloe if anyone needs some.
