The Florida Tech Surfing Panthers arrived in NSB expecting to surf a contest in the fun waves of NSB inlet, but am high tide prevented beach access and an impromptu contest sight was set-up. Florida Tech dominated the clean knee to waist high conditions taking first through fourth place in College Men's Shortboard. Justin Ellingham took first, followed by Sebastian Moreno, Billy Scott and Pat Brennan. Aaron Privett made the semi-finals for the third straight contest. In the College Women's division Alex Barber made her 2nd consecutive final as a member of the B-team making a strong case for her surfing. Ashley Privett advanced to the death heat before getting eliminated. Florida Tech also had 3 longboarders slide into the finals with Willy Cole taking his 3rd consecutive win of the season, Aaron Privett taking third followed close behind by double finalist Billy Scott. With Flagler being a no-show Florida Tech extended its ratings lead and looks to finish strong the second half of the season. Article to come later. yew!
