Kolohe is a kook, end of story. Ok yes he can throw up an air every once in a while...oh my he's the next Kelly Slater! He encompasses none of the good qualities of the "old" or the "new" surfing "styles." He has no power and his airs are, well to put it nicely, lame.

His surfing is mediocre on quality waves can you image him in Florida surf? He's an overated and spoiled kook. There is so much underground talent in our surf that would destroy Kolohe or any of the other kooks from California.

After all, didn't Kelly Slater say something along the lines of, " If you can surf Florida well, than you can surf anywhere." When the waves are small and mushy he won't be able to handle it. Nope, not one bit.

He's a SELL OUT, not only to surf brands but also to target(wtf!?).Surfing has taken another turn for the worst. Amateurs sponsored by mega chains, you have got to be kidding me. I saw this 5 year old at SI today and he'll probably be signing with Exxon and Walmart soon if I had to guess with the way things going these days.

This kid and his fan following of kooks is starting to get on my nerves. He's got nothing and my prediction is that he'll burn out like many of the other child stars...

He is making big, strong carves.  On a wave that size (seven foot face) it not easy to turn top to bottom, especially at that speed.

If you were out there, sitting on the shoulder while watching, you'd be shocked at the intense level at which that kid is surfing.

He's 17, still growing.

Three years from now he'll be turning top-to-bottom that way at big Sunset.

They used to call Slater weak, and before that they even said Curren was weak.

I once saw a film of Current surfing top-to-bottom at 15-foot Sunset.  Couldn't believe it.  It's incredible hard to bottom turn out there.

I have to agree. I've seen groms surf harder than him in weaker surf. He's a kook and wouldn't even compete with the funboarders out here in Florida.
