It's good that surfing has become so large and diverse that those who chose to approach surfing from a more artistic angle can find the funding, albeit meager compared to some, to pursue projects that show aspects of surfing unrelated to competition.  With the inclusion of companies not considered core. by the mainstream, they can by backing core surfers gain exposure to the larger market that seeks surfing's mystique.  Us original members of the soul movement of the '70s can only applaud our descendants that now have a voice and some backing. Goodonya.

I really like the approach you (Mikey) have to your films...I enjoy them so much more than most of the contemporary/modern surf flicks. Sounds cliched but yours seem to have a lot more soul. Keep up the great work...I'll try to make the viewing on the 10th.

Tommy Hilfiger as a presenting sponsor?  Thats kind of a big deal, I would suppose.

No, I agree... And I don't hear of enough flicks like this. I think it has to do with the variety of surfing he can showcase. It really gives a filmmaker so many options... not having to cater to one demographic of surfers. It keeps the film more attractive, if you ask me- having to guess the type of surfing you'll see next should make it an interesting watch from end-to-end.

It also opens up a wider audience, because it has to be easier to watch for a beginning or non-surfer. Modern films probably like a mess of air clips thrown together to your average joe. Good to have stuff like this showing off all aspects of surfing- great for the youth to see. Especially those undecided on what type of board they'd like to go to next

I'm thinking of sleeping late in the morning and going to work at noon Monday, so that I
can get my 'beauty and old age rest' and still be able to go to the movie tonight

See ya'll tonight...
Surftech and I will be there
