I think I'd like to rotate 45 degrees but post only goes 90.

Love the light in this one!

It seems a bit soft. This may or may not help, but it seems to work for me.

Flower....if you're going to shoot with a telephoto, keep the F-stop below F8....digital cameras hate small f-stop numbers. 5.6, 6.3, 7.0, or F8 are the ones for tack sharp images. Test each lens for "sweet spot", but it's usually 2 to 4 fstops out from wide open.

Instead of using Fstop, move the camera closer or farther away to control DOF.

Timer or remote shutter release.

Tri-pod whenever possible.
