These just came up on Facebook. My surf buddy Rick and me with our first "store bought" surfboards.
![]() His dad had helped us build our first boards out of insulating foam and fiberglass mat. They had no rocker so on bigger days we would "pearl" quite often. Once we really knew that we wanted to keep surfing we invested the $150 for new surfboards. Mine was the 9'6" "Rick" & his a 9'8" Hobie. ![]() Another shot with the whole DiFranco family (except mom) with me on the right. They took me to the beach almost every Sunday. What a great experience with this wonderful family! ------------------------- ![]() Edited: 01/05/2016 at 09:44 AM by hodad66 |

Thanks for sharing. Amazing shots and awesome boards. Wish I had one of those boards today!

My first board was a Rick noserider. Surfed South beach when my mom would drive us from Homestead AFB. Wish I had that board now! |
