There seems to be some people with alot of knowlage. Also alot of crap. Anyone remember Corys surf shop? Who was the first surfer to put footstraps on his board in the 70,s and do a no hands barrel roll? What east coast surfer came up with the term barrel roll? Bobby Briel and Dug Teed ripped S.B. First east coaster invited to the Pipe Masters?

Im amazed that no one knows about the sat. bh. surf shops of the late 60,s Corys sold Del cannon and overtons. the G&S shop was where i got a stringerless Midget farley long before oceanside surfboards took over the s.b.,hawaii shop in south C.B. and got the G&S brand that Crawford, Rhodes and DCB rode for. DCB stole the del cannon logo, just added the b!

Always wonder about Cory. We got one of his father's PDR's and learned how to identify all of the best pills. "Fat Jack" Henderson would always stop by and harass us. DCB was just a grom then. We called him Pressed Hair and Wart Eye, after the Cream song "Pressed Rat and Warthog. I still see some of the old, original, Pet Den guys.

Got my Farrelly Stringerless V bottom from the Sea Park SS in 67, then a Fred Hemmings Design 1 from there!

Last I heard, Corey was painting houses. Always had a thing for his sister. Karen was a beauty.

Let me clarify (after re-reading my post) I always had a thing for Karen. (My original sounded like maybe Corey had a thing for his sister. Sorry, Corey.)

Corys painting houses? He alot older than me and Im old so that sucks. The last time I saw cory his dad was beatin the crap out of him, in public, because he refused to get a haircut. Ahh, the good old days! Is Driggers still in S.b.? Chip Swar? Bob Shepard? John or joan Vinuck? Spelling on that last name might be way off. Sharon yakimow? Killer tush in the day.

Bob Shepard is still around and still surfing. Hadn't seen hiim in years and I ran into him at Patrick Pier one day, but didn't recognize him. We got to comparing notes, finally ending with "what year did you graduate?" and then, after hearing the answer, I asked his name. Then started laughing because neither one of us recognized the other, it having been probably 30 years. Last I had heard of him before then (except for running into Suzie about 20 years ago at the Mark Realty overpass), he had written a note on a Surfer and sent it to Wiener in Gainesville that "while you (Wiener) are there (G'ville), I (Bob) will be here." Cover shot was of Indo and he was leaving soon. Had to be about 1975 or 76.

Robert is still around. I hadn't seen him in a long time, but ran into Scott and Robert was with him. Robert used to do the sweetest backside off the lip where he did an S-turn at the top back into the whitewater. This was back in the days of the single fin swallowtail, so it was pretty impressive that he was so loose.

OK garcia. You got me thinking now. We must know each other. I only know one "Weiner". Is his initials MH?

dingpatch - Yes, he is MH. Don't know you, but knew your brother. I was one year younger than him and we rode the bus to DeLaura and SHS together. (I graduated in '73). (I found out who you are from Poo French. You left some clues here on another post and I got with her and she was able to come up with your ID.) I grew up on NE 2nd St, but moved to Sat Beach (Laurel Ct) in Feb '72.
