Looks like Snarks printed on the matches. The old Satellite was more down towards the Hilton.

Yup, next door to CB Hilton.  The building lasted long after the style had gone.

I could be wrong, but think it's where the Hilton is NOW. The lounge inside was called the "Pillow Talk" lounge. At one time or another everyone I hung with worked there as a bartender, front desk clerk, Lounge Door man (me) or something. The guy who owned the place was Tom Birkhead (sic?) a retired AF Col. He'd come in around noon, check the cash registers, putz around for awhile then dig into his personal bottle of IW Harper bourbon, polish it off then go pass out in one of the rooms. At closing time he'd check the registers again and go home. He was also an usher/deacon at Our Saviors church. The hotel itself was disgusting. But the Pillow Talk lounge!!! THE CB hotspot of the time. Dave Feister (of the Groove Monsters) fronted a bad called "Fresh Squeezed" there most every weekend (He was only 17). They had TWO Ladies Nites, Tuesday and Thursday, FREE well drinks for the girls. I manned the Ladies Nite bar and truly believe I got more girls annihilated in a finite period of time than any other human in Cocoa beach before or since. Got "lucky" once in awhile too!

One day I will learn how to post pics....I will post a pic of me standing outside one of the rooms of the Satelite, holding a 9'4" green Oceanside custom, that I had just picked up. I lived in North Miami at the time. My mom drove my sisters and I up to stay there for the weekend on a regular basis...circa 67-69 or so. Mom really liked the Pillow Talk. My sisters and I could hit the beach or pool and mom could have a few pops without worry. Great memories..thanks for starting the post!!!

Back in the days before the drinking age was lowered to 18 (July 1, 1973), the Pillow Talk was divided into "younger than 21" and "21 and over" with the band in the middle. I used to go up there to see Feister and Pettit. Can't remember which incarnation they were at the time (Fresh Squeezed, Fresh Juice, Tight Shoes, etc), but they were THE band. Always thought Austin Pettit kept Dave F under control and the sum of the two was way better than when they had their individual bands. Ahhh, the memories.

If this outdated info is correct, the Satellite was at 1600 N Atlantic, same as the Resort on Cocoa Beach.
