A friend of mine told me he makes a mix of bleach and water and it works great on his paver-ed driveway. Anybody tried using a bleach mix around plants instead of Round-up? Any other alternatives? I weed all the beds once a week, but, oxalis and Bermuda are tough with all of their deep runners. So, about once a year, I Round-up them, but, I sure hate it.

I'm sure bleach would kills plants but probably worse for the environment that round up. Just guessing though. I usually just dig up the plants in the cracks.

My neighbor brushes Morton's salt into his pavers to kill any weeds. Wondering if salt water would in a sprayer would work. Been looking for an alternative myself.

Neighbor used old gas , says it evaporates so quickly it just coats the weeds and does not leach if done on sunny dry days, smells for a while but it works for driveway grass/weeds. I use a flat head shovel and scrape the clumps

VOCs and residue from old gasolene is way worse than glyphosate.

It doesn't just "go away" on sunny days.

VOCs go into the air. Other nasty shit absorbs into the plant and then washes down into the drains bound to the detritus as the plant breaks down.

Epson salts and vinegar will burn the leaves and foliage but won’t kill the root.

This will kill the weeds to the root. It’s the heat not the flame that kills the weed.

Scythe is very good contact herbicide, I find that glyphosate is a poor herbicide for use in the greenhouses I manage.
