UCF clubbed Cinci last night in a game that was over by half time, but literally they called the game at the end of 3rd. Mostly due to weather but the 28 point lead helped! UCF offense, defense, and special teams are playing lights out.

Last week we cracked the top 25 and I expect to move up when the polls come out later today.

Yes, I'm bragging. As a long time UCF fan it feels good to be winning again and just obliterating the competition. Hope it continues and I'm feeling real confident we win out the rest the games. (did I just curse myself? LOL)

Schedule and results:

UCF 61 FIU 17
UCF 38 Maryland 10
UCF 40 Memphis 13
UCF 53 Cincinnati 23

Oct 14th ECU
Oct 21 @ NAVY
Oct 28 Austin-Peay
Nov 4 @ SMU
Nov 11 UCONN
Nov 18 @ Temple
Nov 24 USF

Two toughest games coming up is undefeated Navy and Black Friday undefeated USF.

Go Knights!

They're (UCF) scoring a ton of points which always helps.

UF and FSU are out and UCf and USF are in. The times they have a changed.

UF and FSU deserve to be outta the top 25 ... for now

UCF is most deserving of it's ranking ..... USF, not so much so IMO.

I am still not confident that UM can beat anyone ranked above them .... and certainly not the top 5

Miami does not play anyone ranked above them. ( currently on the schedule)

VT and ND are ranked, both are home games for the U.

I would be a lot more confident if 3 of our best players were not hurt or out.
( Walton, Richards, Donaldson )

Defense is improving every game. Kicking game is solid. Feagles showed his pedigree.

Rosier has become legend thanks to " THE DRIVE." ( Braxton also...)

A very strong wind is blowing and it is a Miami Hurricane.

Continued props to UCF. Congrats.

Just stating my opinion just how good they are currently and match up against the top 10.

and both of those games worry me .... they have had major issues with both recently. I also see them having trouble with GT's option running game

Agree, the loss of Walton for the remainder of the year dif hurts. Redwine is dinged as well.

Defense is improving every game. Kicking game is solid. Feagles showed his pedigree.
Agree, but the LB's still need to improve and DB's still very much worry me.

Rosier has become legend thanks to " THE DRIVE." ( Braxton also...)
Not ready to give him that title ..... he looked VERY shaky until the last drive.

A very strong wind is blowing and it is a Miami Hurricane.

I rate them a strong cat 2 right now. Were as teams 3-5 are cat 4's ..... Bama & Clemson are 5+'s

Continued props to UCF. Congrats.

Miami does look good. going into Tally and winning on that final drive was amazing and surely a boost of confidence for the rest of the year.

USF is 5-0 but haven't beaten anyone with a pulse and had some close games. They are bound to slip up...mainly Black Friday!

After this weekend's games, coach poll:

UCF moves to 5-0 and moved up one spot to #20 UCF is looking really-really good this year. Offense, defense, and special teams. Next up is @Navy

USF at #13. Again, UCF-USF Black Friday game is gonna be one for the ages if both teams stay undefeated into that game.

Miami #7

Yes, The I-4 War is setting up nicely. I keep saying at some point the great state of football should just be one conference:

Miami, FSU, UF, UCF, USF, FAU, FIU.

ACC expansion: UCF, USF...( dream on)

Meanwhile, my blood pressure has recovered and I will be at Hard Rock this weekend.

Football weekend for you! That Syracuse upset over Clemson was huge. Good set up for Miami to take that and click up a few spots in the rankings! Are they for real?

I don't know at what point we say: We are back.

Injuries tell the tale. Who knows what the depth is like, but we are finding out.

In the last several years ( With Golden as the coach ) when Hurricanes held up 4 fingers to start the 4th quarter it meant nothing. Now its back to what it used to mean: we win the 4th quarter.

I think an ACC championship would signal that Miami is back......

UCF 31 @NAVY 21....

UCF moves to 6-0 in a very hard fought battle. First time all year UCF was challenged and game went into the 4th.

another solid win for your Knights

The U failed to take advantage of multiple Quez turnovers in the first half and escaped with another close one ..... HOWEVER, they will need to play MUCH MUCH better to beat either VT or Dame!! They are ranked were they are based on zero losses but are not a top 10 team .... IMO.

SMU is looking like it could be a challenge. Great offense, but no defense. Probably a high scoring affair.

remaining schedule

Nov 4 @ SMU
Nov 11 UCONN
Nov 18 @ Temple
Nov 24 USF

Dec 2 American conference championship. Held at team with best conference record. So possibly @UCF.

Go Knights!

Bummer about McElwain. It is kinda odd Randy Shannon is now the coach.

I will be VERY surprised if UF does not choose someone more "seasoned" and pass on Frost .... and that could very well turn out to be their loss.

I would not put Frost on UF's list of candidates. He's obviously a great talent, but, he will leave for Nebraska when that opening comes up. "There's no place like home, there's no place like home." I never faulted Urban Meyer for doing that, but, I do fault him for the way he did it - take a year off (while taking his paycheck), come back for a year (where he really did nothing in the way of coaching or recruiting, while still taking his paycheck), claiming he was leaving due to health and to spend more time with his family, immediately take a job with ESPN (where he is on the road) and then take the OSU job as soon as it opened. Typical. He is a scoundrel who left UF in shambles.

Coach Scott Frost is a great coach. He is gonna be worth a lot of money if not already. Currently getting paid 2 million at UCF. Has a baby due this week from his recent wife. I don't see him leaving UCF until after next year. UCF is going to be even better next year.

If I were to guess Nebraska is probably where he ends up. Enjoying him while he is at UCF though! Go Knights!

Well, first Nebraska has to fire the current coach and afford his buy out (6.6 million), then afford Scott Frost 3 million dollar buy out. I'm sure they have the money and if it happens it happens. But, I don't think it will and Scott Frost is coaching at UCF in 2018. (knock on wood)

Gators are another beast along with Tennessee who have even deeper pockets. it will be interesting.

In the meantime, don't lose to SMU (14 point underdogs) who is pretty good this year and also has a desirable coach, Chad Morris.

If they would have watched the SMU game they would have seen that SMU has a NFL prototype Qb and 3 WR that will be in the NFL. They just about beat us, but a great team finds a way to win on the road. Our defense stepped up and made some key stops. Oh well, just keep winning. The best UCF can do is a New Year's eve bowl. Sad that college football is so exclusionary and a Cinderella team can't make the playoffs. It is what it is and I do understand that the American conference has a perception of inferiority. The BCS system wasn't even this bad. Now watch UCF drop a game. LOL. JUST KEEP WINNING. Maybe next year!

from article:

What's even more disrespectful is CFB Playoff Committee Chairman Kirby Hocutt taking us for a bunch of fools when he claims UCF's "strength of schedule" is the reason for their low ranking. Except UCF's strength of schedule is almost exactly the same as fellow unbeaten Wisconsin, which is ranked No. 8 in the poll.

UCF strength of schedule hinders move up in College Football Playoff rankings
That's right, UCF is the highest-scoring team in the nation and has essentially played the same schedule as Wisconsin - and beaten its opponents more decisively than Wisconsin - and yet UCF is ranked 10 spots below the Badgers.

Why? Power 5 politics and privilege, that's why. College football continues to run the most archaic, asinine, exclusionary system in all of sports. Because the Badgers were lucky enough to be around a century ago when the major conferences were formed, they will get to chance to play for a national championship if they go unbeaten whereas UCF won't.

USF black friday. Game is sold out.
Then, if we beat USF championship game against Memphis. Get tix. At UCF. Saturday Dec 2nd.

Watch the college football playoff committee drop us out of the top 25 for only scoring 49 points against UCONN. LOL

Bama squeeked by. Their QB was the difference maker. He ran it when Miss State shut down the pass and kept them in and even got them past it. Not at all play calling, sheer athleticism.

The biggest game in USF football history.

It's seven days and 90 miles away. USF at UCF. Next Friday at UCF's ON-CAMPUS stadium. The 9-1 Bulls against the perfect Knights, provided the perfect Knights stay perfect Saturday at Temple. It's the matchup within the matchup: USF coach Charlie Strong against UCF/Florida/Nebraska coach Scott Frost.

I have watched part of 3 or 4 Bulls games and have not been impressed the the team yet .... Quinton Flowers is an athlete and can make some plays. But as a team they are not even close to a top team.

I will be surprised if your knights do not hammer them Bulls

I agree. USF has been playing really bad. I wonder if it is due to Willie Taggart leaving and Charlie Strong sucking as a coach. Quinton Flowers is great athlete, but he can't do it all. Too many penalties, dropped passes, holes in the defense. Although their front dee lineman are pretty good. Its a rivalry game so anything can happen, but Spectrum Stadium is sold out and there is going to be a very raucous crowd there. 3:30 Black Friday kick off.

Meanwhile, we gotta beat an improved Temple team up in Philly in 4 hours. They won the conference last year and need a win for a bowl game eligibility. UCF favored by two TDs. but that don't mean squat. Temple defense is pretty good. We will see.

Kickoff NOON on ESPNU. Go Knights! Go to 10-0.

LOL at 10-1. obvious bull fan is obvious

No. 14 UCF rolls Temple 45-19, heads to War on I-4 unbeaten

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- There were so many reasons for UCF coach Scott Frost to worry about his team's focus this week.

With a huge game looming, playing an improving Temple team in a stadium where the empty seats outnumbered the filled ones by about a 3-1 ratio on a chilly, gray day had all the makings of a tricky spot for the Knights.

Then Frost saw his wide receivers and defensive backs warming up at Lincoln Financial Field with their shirts off in the 40-degree temperatures.

"I knew right then our team's mindset was in the right place," Frost said.

McKenzie Milton threw four touchdown passes and ran for a score as No. 14 Central Florida comfortably took care of business against Temple, winning 45-19 Saturday to stay unbeaten heading into a division title showdown with rival USF.

The Knights (10-0, 7-0 American Athletic conference, CFP No. 15) turned three Temple turnovers inside the Owls' 25 into 17 first-half points, taking a 31-10 lead when Gabriel Davis stretched across the goal line for a 5-yard touchdown reception with 2:36 left in the second quarter.

Tre'Quan Smith, who had a remarkable one-handed catch, tippy-toeing the sideline to set up a touchdown in the first half, said the coaches were stressing all week that they had to play without long sleeves. So the receivers took it a step further.

"All right we got something for them if we come out in no shirts. Show them we're ready to play," Smith said. "We show them we can play in the cold, too, even though we Florida boys."

The AAC East Division will be decided in Orlando, Florida, on Black Friday, when No. 23 South Florida (9-1, 6-1) visits UCF. Temple (5-6, 3-4) could have been easy to overlook for the Knights. The game had no bearing on whether they play for a conference title and a loss probably wouldn't have damaged their chances to receive a bid to a New Year's Six bowl.

With speculation swirling about where second-year coach Frost might be coaching next and so much chatter about whether UCF is getting enough love in the rankings, the Knights stayed on task.

"I was a little worried about this game, being the game before the game," Frost said. "Being in the cold, being our ninth straight week playing a football game. A lot of factors pointed toward this one potentially being a tough one and our guys responded."

Shaquem Griffin, the 2016 AAC defensive player of the year whose left hand was amputated when he was 4, was all over the field for the UCF defense. He forced a fumble in the first half that set up a score and made his second career interception in the second half, running step-for-step down field with a receiver and cradling the ball into his chest.

"When you got big games and you got games coming up, it's very hard to focus on just one, but I think that we've been doing a really good job of just focusing on one game at a time. And you kind of see where it led us," Griffin said.

Frank Nutile, who helped revive Temple's offense when he took over at quarterback four games ago, was picked off four times. Nutile said he apologized to his teammates for a poor game.

"At the end of the day our goal is to send the seniors off the right way. Finish off 6-6. Get bowl eligible and stuff like that. It's still right," Nutile said.

THE TAKEAWAY

UCF: The Knights have so many ways to attack. Six different players scored touchdowns, including freshman Otis Anderson, who is listed on the depth chart as a wide receiver but also is one of the team's leading rushers. He had 62 yards on five carries against Temple and caught a touchdown pass.

Temple: The Owls tried to slow the pace against the Knights, but turnovers killed that plan. Temple is not built to get into a back-and-forth game with the highest scoring team in the country.

WOOING FROST

There were Nebraska fans in the stand, sitting right next to the UCF tunnel that led to the field, with signs that read, "Scott Come Back Home." Not to be outdone, another group of fans Tennessee fans had signs that read, "We Found Our Coach" and "There's Frost In Our Forecast."

UP NEXT

UCF: The War on Interstate 4 has never been bigger. "Can't wait," UCF linebacker Pat Jasinski said. "Can't wait."

Temple: The Owls try again to reach bowl eligibility, this time at Tulsa.

Just checked and the spread is showing UCF -11.5! I think the hype machine and bandwagon train is blinding some national folks. USF's only loss came after a 4th down and 24 was converted on a hail Mary with inside a minute to play.

Here's a fun fact: in the last 8 meetings of these two - the only stats UCF leads USF in is pass attempts and turnovers.

Home field advantage is a real thing for you guys tho. Everyone else hates Euro club music and you kids jump up and lose your minds for it. This one should be lotsa fun!

Having watched both teams all year USF doesn't stand a chance unless they clean up their poor play and have a complete game. UCF is not making that many mistakes and are firing on all cylinders.

I'm also not impressed with Charlie Strong's play calling. He seemed to have more of a conservative approach than Willie Taggart. That ain't gonna cut it for this game.

I really don't see duh bools having much of a chance. But, who knows. Here is hoping for a good game...in the first half. I think it will be over by half. Every UCF game so far except Navy has been.

Zombie Nation is played after every TD. So you may not want to go if you don't like euro trash disco. It will be played about 7 times. UCF averaging 48 points a game.

Canes taking it on the road: Pittsburg, Charlotte, Pasadena, Atlanta.

Go Knights beat that scum from Tampa.

The undefeated, Bama, Wisconsin, Miami, UCF. college football playoff poll comes out tonight (Tuesday). Watch UCF not move up any. Conspiracy. Keeping a team down. If Notre Dame (2 losses) is ranked higher than UCF than that is bullshit, we beat @Navy by 7 more points than ND did at home game. LOL. Whatev, just keep winning.

For those too lazy to look

UCF 31 @Navy 21
@Notre Dame 24 Navy 17

Other comparable score

UCF 45 @Temple 19
@Notre Dame 49 Temple 16

Notre Dame's two losses are Georgia and Miami (wiped the floor with them).

UCF undefeated. Would they be undefeated with Notre Dame's schedule. We don't know. However, every other game UCF has played has been over by half time and resting our starters by the 3rd quarter.

Why notre dame is in top ten is extremely perplexing. But watch, they will move up after struggling with Navy (and they did) and UCF will stagnate.

But, again, whatev, just keep winning! go Knights!

Hocutt said while the selection committee continues to be impressed with UCF, it's been the schedule that's prevented the team from gaining much traction in the rankings.

He said the group put that schedule up against Mississippi State's schedule. The Bulldogs moved up two spots past the Knights to No. 14 despite having three losses.

"The three losses that Mississippi State has were to Alabama, Auburn and Georgia - teams 1, 6, and 7 this week. In the selection committee's conversations we're not sure any team in the country would be undefeated if they had to play teams No. 1, 6 and 7 in this week's rankings."

espn:

ORLANDO, Fla. -- There is a pretty important game between two intense rivals happening in Florida this weekend, one with serious conference and College Football Playoff implications.

That's right: USF vs. UCF (3:30 p.m. ET Friday on ABC) has taken the spotlight from the more nationally known teams farther north, becoming the hottest ticket in the state. While the Florida State-Florida matchup features two losing teams for just the second time in series history, UCF (10-0) and USF (9-1) will take center stage in front of a sold-out crowd Friday afternoon in Orlando.

Welcome to the woes of being an unknown, unhyped, and untelevised team. Several years ago when USF hit the national stage beating a ranked WVU and Auburn on national TV - they went through the same thing.

If you guys happen to make it through the entire season and bowl game without a loss AND looking good it would be a great thing. Laying a giant egg anywhere will only reinforce these mid-25 rankings due to our crap conference. If you magically survive all of it - maybe it makes a case for the playoffs to expand a bit. Until then we'll both be cute little teams with some nice games.

Today USF will crush your dream season, and continue to allow both universities to thrive in a crappy conference with the pinnacle being a decent bowl game. I'm willing to live with that long term in exchange for a win today.

Wow, when I saw online that UCF was trailing 34-28 in the 4th, I thought I should turn the TV on. Not disappointed: 29 points in the last 8 minutes!

Plus, UM lost to Pitt today, so only two undefeated teams left...

Man that game was bananas! That was a lot of fun, fitting it came down to a kickoff returned for a TD.

Congrats to UCF, really great game and season. Hope they keep their coach, mop up Memphis, and shake up the National show.

Now we've got a legit rivalry to look forward to!

Best game ever at UCF. So glad we are doing good. Always fun when your team wins! I was feeling pretty depressed when the momentum swung to USF side and stayed there for a couple quarters.

Best game of the year. Both teams played so well. Everyone at that game saw history being made. Frost is amazing but he gave it all to the players. That game was emotional even without a dog in the fight. As for UM, the best sign ever was held up by a Pitt fan "this is our bowl game". Miami couldn't get it together and Pitt's Qb was MVP.

My bad on the previous post: There were 3 undefeated teams (I forgot Wisconsin), but since Auburn beat Alabama today, it is now down to 2.

SB Nation called UCF/USF the best game of the year so far. They have all the scoring plays and major highlights packed into one 7-minute video here:
https://www.sbnation.com/colle...17-results-final-score

Lots of articles all over the place about Frost and the coaching openings, but Sports Illustrated had a nice one here:
https://sports.yahoo.com/one-n...ost-ucf-042141606.html
ending with

The entire stadium shook when Hughes returned that kick. It was a scene those who remember UCF the commuter school never thought possible. A packed house - on campus, no less - cheered on a champion. It stopped being a commuter school a long time ago, but it needs more moments like that one to prove it. "The crowd was unbelievable. The stadium was unbelievable. The leadership of this university is unbelievable. The students have been supportive. This community is unbelievable," Frost said. "This place is really special. I saw a glimpse tonight of what it can be."

Those sound like the words of a man who plans to be around for that climb - and it's still possible he could join UCF athletic director Danny White, who agreed to a new deal this week that should keep him in Orlando - but reality doesn't always work out that way. There were jobs to be done Friday night, so Frost had to be asked about "done deal" reports linking him and Nebraska. "Probably in the next 24 hours, I'll get rid of Twitter and Facebook and Instagram," Frost said when asked how he deals with the swirling rumors. He responded more directly to a question about a report that his representatives would meet with Florida soon. "I am my representative," Frost said. "And I will be with my wife and baby."

That's true in a sense. Frost has an agent, and that agent likely has fielded several queries about Frost. But Frost is the only person who can decide when a deal is truly done, and college football custom dictates that face-to-face meetings between sitting head coaches and school officials don't take place until a coach has finished the regular season (including any championship games). So watch Nebraska and Florida this next week. If either appears to be moving toward a hire that isn't Frost, perhaps they got a backchannel answer from Frost. But don't expect a final yes to anyone until he can meet with the people from the schools that want to hire him.

Maybe Frost will stay at UCF. But the offers that will come will be tough to turn away. Even if he leaves, he still meant what he said about what the program and the school can be. Ask Urban Meyer how he feels about Utah, and he'll wax eloquent about his time there and the Utes he coached. He has won national titles at two other schools, but those two seasons remain special to him. That may be how Frost ultimately views UCF.

But the ride will last at least one more week. So try to enjoy it, Knights.

I don't really care about all the coaching rumors about Scott Frost. Means nothing to me. Of course he is worth a lot of money he is a great coach. UCF will be fine if he stays or goes. Of course I hope he stays but it would be hard to turn down all the offers coming his way. He deserves it. Great coach.

Cheap tix for the American conference games are only 25 bucks. Kick off next Saturday at noon. @UCF. Memphis romped ECU today and scored 70 points.

Whoa, glad I got the new TV for the man cave.

What a run for UCF. Big Props. If Frost leaves its a dream job for someone. If I was UCF I would float a bond or something to see if you could give Frost something like 7.5m for 10 years with incentives.

For my Canes. We have had an incredible run. I am really hopeful about winning the ACC. That of course would certainly put us into the playoff. If not the future is so incredibly bright.

It's so enjoyable to hear Nick Saban claim that Alabama should absolutely be in the running despite losing the sec west. Last year he said that you should have to win your conference to play in the cfb playoffs. That's was, of course, before he ever imagined he would lose to auburn. This is funny. With so many teams suffering a loss, ucf's stock should be higher.

As much as I dislike Satan, he didn't actually say that quote. (his quote is too long to cut-n-paste)

But ... It is funny that Saban is making his team's case in the media after spending the season referring to media influence as "rat poison."

UCF should be ranked around 10 in my opinion. The coach/Ap polls almost have it right. Memphis a little higher as well as their only loss is to UCF.

Brings me back to 2013, the one and only year UCF was in the BCS. We got lined up with Big 12 winner Baylor and vegas said we were 17 point underdogs.
All the national media predicted Baylor to win and we couldn't keep up. Well, UCF wiped the floor with Baylor and killed them. We finished #10 in the polls, with just one loss to South Carolina who finished 2 or 3 or 4, I forget.

If UCF beats Memphis this Saturday, and if Memphis wins, one of the two teams will be in a New Year's Day bowl, (probably Peach bowl in Atlanta). What team is going to want to be matched up against us?
It will be a team that is currently in the top ten. I'm hoping it is Bama. We currently lead the series 1-0. Being 2-0 against Bama would be great!

Go Knights!

Great game. Too bad ESPN announced Frost leaving for Nebraska during overtime while the game was undecided. Someone needs to be fired for that shit.

I know I said it last week but.... that was the game of the year. It was crazy how the network flashed that frost was officially going to Nebraska during the game, but my guess is that the news was to be delivered at the end and double overtime ruined that. Either way, one for the books. 0-12 to 12-0.

Wow, just got home. completely exhausted. So many ups and downs and ups and downs. This game, believe it or not was better than the War-On-I4. Amazing game. Listened to Scott frost in the post game interview. He's gone. However:

from twitter:
Scott Frost and his staff have committed to coaching UCF in the Peach Bowl, Danny White confirmed. Frost will coach the Bowl game.

Great season for UCF.   Miami ends on a sour note but still had a good season.

I can see them matching up Miami Auburn in a bowl game

Three polls are in almost unanimous agreement for the Top 9, except swapping one spot between USC and Auburn.
https://www.foxsports.com/college-football/polls

UCF is at #10 in AP and Coach polls, #12 in Payoff Selection Committee.
UM at 11, 11, and 10 in those.
Memphis at 19, 18, and 20.
USF at 23, 24, and NR.

UCF's strength of schedule was not as embarrassingly weak as some pollsters tried to make it sound.

Auburn also beat Georgia. So they beat two teams in the playoffs. Georgia is looking pretty good. Bama not so hot. Clemson will take them out. Oklahoma vs Georgia...eh, I'll take Georgia. Prob Georgia vs Clemson in National Championship game. But, I think UCF could beat anyone at this point. LOL. Beat Auburn! Then we will talk. Next year should be interesting. I heard rumors of Kevin Sumlin is lead candidate for job. We will see.

Also, UCF basketball beat #24 Alabama in mens basketball today in a close contest.

One of these days the national media will recognize that UCF is a powerhouse in sports.....I would recommend getting season tix for football next year. Buying single game tix has become difficult the past few games. Only 99 bucks for season tix and there really is no nose bleed seats in Spectrum Stadium.

Stoked to be going to Atlanta for New Years. Will we beat Auburn? Who knows. Who is coaching both teams? rumors of Malzahn to Arkansas for 50 million. So silly season continues.

I watched Scott Frost intro to Nebraska coaching today. he flew over night for the media conference. He looked tired. I expect good things out of Nebraska the next few years. Great Coach. Glad he spent a couple years at UCF.

Go Knights!

Good read:

Yes it was.. Frost seems like a good guy and he was in a difficult position but in the end, he could not say no to coming home to rescue his beloved Cornhuskers.

I wish him well .... however the task before him will be much harder than the one he just accomplished.

Great article. I hope he achieves the same success with the Nebraska players. I think every Knight will always have 2017 as their highest moment. I believe that the fire Frost started does not go out when he leaves. There is no going back. This started something, a new relevance for both UCF and USF, and to a lesser extent, even FAU.

How about Scott Frost crowd surfing at the 11 minute mark in the video above then later when he is telling the team he is leaving?

Frost Named Coach of the Year

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) - After leading the UCF football team to a perfect 12-0 season and an American Athletic Conference Championship, Scott Frost was honored as the 2017 Home Depot Coach of the Year in College Football, announced Wednesday.

Rhetorical: IF and its a very big IF, UCF beats Auburn in the bowl game. (I think we will, black and gold glasses on tight)...we return 90 percent of our team. We lose a few seniors, some important on defense. However, we have a very talented and young team coming back in 2018. Is it at all possible to win the National Championship if we go undefeated? My auburn coworker just told me UCF would be ranked #20 preseason, win or lose the bowl game. I think if we go undefeated we would deserve to be considered a top 4 team. But, of course, we won't (in my opinion) due to perceived biased opinions and driven by $$$ of the playoff committee. Cinderella teams are allowed in college basketball but not in football.

Regardless gonna be interesting and what a great time to be a UCF fan! College football in our backyards. This year's games were really fun. Anyone on the fence about buying season tix I would say go for it. 99 bucks per season tix is a steal for college football. Single game tix were very tough to get for the past two.

2018 schedule
Home:
South Carolina State
FAU
Pitt
Cincinnati
Temple
Navy
SMU

Away:
North Carolina
UConn
Memphis
ECU
USF

two games that will sell out are Navy and Pitt. The other teams don't draw fans.

Pitt beat Miami Canes this year. The two out of conference games that are important to win are Pitt and North Carolina. Two ACC teams.

USF will drop off as Qb Quinton Flowers graduates.

Memphis should again be good as Coach Norvell signed extension yesterday.

SMU was going to be good but their coach just moved to Arkansas. SMU qb is NFL caliber.

FAU, Lane Kiffen Owls come to UCF! FAU went undefeated in conference and won CUSA. Surely that will be ESPN prime game as they love themselves some Lane Kiffen.

Uconn should suck as usual along with ECU.

South Carolina State, div double AA.

Cinci/Temple, eh...usually tough teams but have been down.

Navy at UCF. Navy always good. They dropped off towards the end of the year though. But, NAVY coming to UCF! Woot!

Scott Frost on Jim Rome show today:

Frost said he's still working through logistics, but is hoping to be able to coach No. 10 UCF in the Peach Bowl against No. 7 Auburn on Jan. 1.

"The players at UCF have scratched and clawed and worked to get the opportunity that they've got," he said. "If I can make it work, I owe it to those guys to do everything I can to give them the best chance to win that football game and we're trying to work that out now. It'd be great to see them one more time."

Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl: Auburn (-9.5) vs. UCF

When: Jan. 1, 12:30 p.m. (ESPN)
Why to watch: The Knights can cap off a perfect season before Scott Frost heads to Nebraska, and the Tigers have a chance to build for next year around Jarrett Stidham. There will be points.
SN pick: Auburn wins 42-28 and covers the spread

College Football Playoff is just another fake way to determine national 'champion'

If UCF beats Auburn in the Peach Bowl on New Year's Day, the Knights will expose one of the fatal flaws in college football's latest postseason system - the College Football Playoff.

Like I said, I bet vegas had trouble thinking of the point spread for this game. Auburn is pretty good. UCF is pretty good. Its an intriguing matchup.

Auburn is favored for obvious reasons. But, UCF, watch out. Don't get caught up in the whole 'smaller school/conference' and can't compete thing.

2014 Fiesta bowl, Baylor won the Big12 and was favored by 17 points over UCF.

UCF 52 Baylor 42 Final.

With that said, I ain't betting anything. The sane side of my brain says UCF can't beat Auburn, in contrast, my crazy black-n-gold goggles side of the brain says UCF wins... Hoping for an upset. Would be huge for UCF going into 2018. Monumental undefeated season beating the
team that beat #1 Georgia and Alabama.

Btw, I think it will be Georgia and Alabama in the National Championship game.

fyi, UCF qb McKenzie Milton finished 8th in the Heisman voting.

2018 could be his year to go higher.

New Head Coach Heupel finished 2nd in the heisman as a player for Oklahoma, and has coached two Qbs for the win. 2003 Jason White and 2008 Sam Bradford

Thus, the Peach bowl is the kick off for Milton's Heisman trophy campaign!

(dear football gawd don't smack me down with an embarrassing bowl loss for boasting too much)

Sorry but no. It was off the board until about 24 hours after the bowl matchups were announced ..... but that was because the Auburn coaching situation was a bit up in the air .... as soon as it was announced that Malzahn had signed a new contract, Auburn was listed as a 10.5-11 point favorite. That settled down to 9.5 in a day or so, were it has remained.

Got my Peach bowl seat assignments yesterday. Hope I'm not making this trip in disappointment. Always a long drive home from UCF after a loss, even longer from Atlanta!

UCF starts bowl game practice today. Meanwhile all of UCF's interim coaches are out recruiting for Nebraska. Ugh.

You never know about him making it in the NFL.

He's a half inch taller than Russell Wilson.

Milton just needs to beef up to 190 - 200 pounds from his 177 or so.

The last 3 years of UCF Football would make for a great movie. 0-12 to 13-0. Wow!

Woot. Great game to be at. UCF fans outnumbered and out cheered Auburn. Actually probably more Auburn fans but hard to see that in my UCF section.

The Mercedez Benz Stadium in Atlanta is really nice.

UCF NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!

UNDEFEATED AND UNDISPUTED...

I never could find anybody to give me UCF and 9.5 points. Wish I had.

My buddy is finding every pundit who said that the UCF was dead on arrival. No shortage of crow on those menus.

Anybody think that Griffin will get picked up in the NFL draft? He's down a hand and all, but man does he get around! He reminds me of Polamalu in the way he just always seemed to be in the right place at the right time.

He's an amazing talent.

AU's coach referred to him as "#18" in a post-game compliment, but I wonder if it's because they were so underprepared they didn't know his name. A lot of people do now, that's for sure.

Hard to say about the NFL though. They can be fickle. But his twin brother was drafted by the Seahawks in the 4th round this year, so a legacy of NFL-grade DNA should help open some eyes and minds.

#18 probably will get a shot at the NFL. Who wouldn't want him on your team? Probably special teams rookie year until the coaches figure out he is a one man wrecking crew.

Just looking back a few years, when a team with no history had a chance at the big dance:

The 2007 USF Bulls. They were in the Big East conference at the time, which is considered a major conference, but always more of a basketball power than a football contender (two UM championships aside).

Da Bulls made it all the way up to #2 in the rankings after 6 games, 4 of which were against weak teams that year (Elon, UNC, FAU, and UCF). But they did beat #5 WV and #17 Auburn (at Jordan Hare).

Had they not melted down into a 3-game losing streak against Rutgers, UConn, and Cincinnati), they would have finished the season in a major BCS bowl game instead of the Sun Bowl.

A relatively weak schedule with two big, early wins against ranked teams, would have been enough to be in consideration for a national championship. Beating Auburn at JH Stadium is no small feat. WV is always flakey, and their #5 ranking was probably a tad high, but it's still higher than UCF's biggest win against a #7 Auburn.

10pm on a Monday night. Watched UCF downtown Church street National Championship celebration live on youtube. Going to bed. Is there another game on? *Yawn* Let me know if they score a touchdown for 2nd place.
