I know it's no longer standing, but I was curious if anyone remembers where the Ormond Pier used to be? |

I recall it being in or around Ormond, perhaps that helps?

The pier was three miles north of Granada Blvd where the Al Weeks North Shore Park is now.

I figured it was near Tom Renick/Al Weeks. Thanks, all. |

I grew up south of it. Tom Renick/Al Weeks (1631 Ocean Shore Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32176) is where it was. I'll see if I can find a pic of some remains for you. There is a facebook group of pier locals with some good pics from the old days. [edit] found the picture, but the upload feature is not working. Edited: 02/14/2018 at 06:14 PM by pompano |

I'm pretty sure it was about a block or so north of Tom Renick park. About 9 years ago you could still see some of the pilings exposed especially at low tide. Pretty sketchy surfing there when the tide comes in cause they would reveal themselves as the water sucked up while your on a wave. It breaks really good all through that area from my recollection. |

Cant miss it -several miles N of Granada Route 40 in Ormond-by-the-Sea, and a couple blocks North of Tom Renick is a paved parking area and lifeguard building. Right accross from Roberta Road long time home of "Paul Screwball" Prewitt! The Ormond pier was at the S end of that parking area, where the Happy Whale Restaurant used to stand. lifeguard shack is where it was back in the day. see my facebook page Ormond Pier Surfdawgs to post or see old pics. Eat at Crabby Chris' a block North if you're there-great burritos and maybe some fresh Cobia! |
