Maybe an evening session...wind will go offshore and hopefully lighten up as the storm lifts north...

Careful for the junk in the water. A log to the head is never good.

Yeah I paddled out after Matthew last year in NSB and was all sorts of random stuff floating around... caught one wave right in as I realized was not good idea!!!

get up early and go surf - it'll make that hangover go away and/or make the workday more tolerable :)

The uber strong S wind could make for some peaky large surf late Monday afternoon.

Replace turf grass with native plants that don't need irrigation and synthetic fertilizers or chemicals that can go into our waterways and ocean

Also remember that the wood in the water is heavy pressure treated wood that does not float high, and is more likely covered in nails - many rusty and also maybe some 'rink shank' or deck screws for good measure.

Lots of 2x12 stair stringers, 4x4 posts, treads, decking etc from boardwalks..

At least a month after Francis/Jeannie I remember hitting some.

Remember that a lot of the wood debris is coming from way way down south of us..

I was extremely lucky I missed the nails and my head..

Puts a real dampener on your session regardless - even if you don't get cut or hit that bad.. Even a small light 'touch' reminds of what you can't see down there.  Talk about paranoid..

Really want to duck dive into that mass of whitewater coming at you not knowing what may be in there..
