Vimeo. From Jamie Hancock. The self-deprecating intro info belies the beautiful videography. Panasonic GH5 with an Ikelite dive housing. The GH5 is new enough that I'm not even sure it's regularly in stock at the major camera stores. It's gotten very strong reviews as a video camera that also does very good stills. Micro four-thirds system, like Olympus. |

Oddly relaxing for a somewhat violent subject matter.
The footage would make a good loop to watch while laying in bed waiting for sleep. ------------------------- I was right. |

I need to run the video by someone I know who has actual video training/competence. I think Hancock must have some video editing chops, like color grading. Beyond that Ikelite housing that surf photogs would never use, he's obviously making good use of a drone, I assume with the same heavy camera. He's done a dreamscape of shorebreak, which would more normally be done with bodyboarders and bodysurfers doing high-risk stuff. Clark Little has done a good job of mixing elegance and risk (and of course he popularized shorebreak photography. Some others keep up with him, but he invented the market). B&H has the camera (Panasonic Lumix DC-GH5) in stock, and labels it a #1 bestseller. |
